Just thinking out loud... DD goes to Jesuit and ND is kinda the BYU of Catholic schools... any connection there? Doubtful but I just thought of it.

Pretty sure it's just one dude with an axe to grind. Couple other folks who just want to point out that Mud had disagreed with them in the past and they didn't like it. Pretty low percentage for an internet board actually.louisky wrote:Diehardduckfan wrote:louisky wrote:

Yeah I went to Beaverton and have tons of friends that went to Jesuit. Most, if not all of them just had parents that were well off and wanted the best education for their kids. As for the top recruited athletic talent, I don't think religious affiliation plays any part in wanting to go to Jesuit. Just like blue blood college programs, they have built a powerhouse and people want to go there.

Oh I don't know, I went there, know teachers, coaches and am friends with some of the administrators. It's not like the old days when it was near a 100% Catholic,. It's not even close to your number of only 10% Catholic. You were just pulling that number out of your rear end. It's well over 50/50 and probably closer to 70/30 in the student body.

Unless things have changed dramatically from when I went there (graduated about 10 years ago and was an athlete), the number at Jesuit is lower than 90%. I'd say it's probably closer to 50-60% max. I have no idea about CC.QB11 wrote:I'd love to hear why I'm way wrong.damascusduck wrote:You are WAY wrong on that number.QB11 wrote:90% of athletes at CC/Jesuit aren't Catholic.justducky0 wrote:Just thinking out loud... Looks like about 71% Catholic per Jesuit.
Central Catholic sits at 66% Catholic

Re: What's up y'all???????
Same, I went to Beaverton as well and of the 20-30 people from my middle school that went to Jesuit, maybe 1 was actually catholic. Can't argue with the education you get there which is why my wife and I want to send our children there, even though we are most definitely not catholic.lukeyrid13 wrote:Yeah I went to Beaverton and have tons of friends that went to Jesuit. I believe QB11 was talking about athletes specifically, not the general student population. The athletes are 'recruited' and therefore probably are a smaller percentage.duck55 wrote:Fast Facts about JHS - Jesuit High School

Re: What's up y'all???????
That stat would be hard to determine - I was only doing a little fact checking to this statement "And like 80% of everyone who attends those schools aren't Catholic either." I've been known to toss out stats without checking before and realize how easy that can be.ducklefty wrote:I believe QB11 was talking about athletes specifically, not the general student population. Considering I believe I read that 77% of the student body participated in at least one sporting activity, if every non Catholic was an athlete, that would still put the catholic participants above 60%.
