90% of athletes at CC/Jesuit aren't Catholic.

You are WAY wrong on that number.
I'd love to hear why I'm way wrong.

Unless things have changed dramatically from when I went there (graduated about 10 years ago and was an athlete), the number at Jesuit is lower than 90%. I'd say it's probably closer to 50-60% max. I have no idea about CC.
Can't speak for Jesuit had some friends there but I can speak for CC and their football program is vastly not catholic.
I believe QB11 was talking about athletes specifically, not the general student population. The athletes are 'recruited' and therefore probably are a smaller percentage.
Bingo and even more so male athletes. Most of the student population is catholic but they don't win a lot of football games because all the catholic kids go there, they win football games because they recruit players and could care less whether or not they're catholic.

He is wrong on almost everything I've seen him post. I hope you guys can convince him to stay over here. We're all sick of him over at DT.
Yeah, what is Prehm telling you from his "sources" on all the visitors this weekend. Wasn't it supposed to be a very very big group with all kinds of surprises?

It's not really debating either of those things. The argument was made that because Jesuit is Catholic and Notre Dame is catholic maybe DD decommitted to go there. Two things on this, Oregon cut contact cause they like other guys better, period. I apologize, I made the statement which I should have not made because I obviously can't prove it. But in my experience playing at CC that about 90% of the male athletes I played with were not catholic. The specific demographics are moot I wasn't meaning to offend anyone just saying that in my personal experience a vast majority of athletes at those schools are there for sports not religion.

Oh I don't know, I went there, know teachers, coaches and am friends with some of the administrators. It's not like the old days when it was near a 100% Catholic,. It's not even close to your number of only 10% Catholic. You were just pulling that number out of your rear end. It's well over 50/50 and probably closer to 70/30 in the student body.
Really? I went to CC, and 90% of Male ATHLETES were not confirmed Catholics. I'm also friends with many of the coaches at CC.

BS. Now you are back tracking. You said 90% of athletes at CC weren't Catholic , which is is false. Now it's just the football team. I highly doubt you even went there. Personally, I think you are full of it. As a 247 lurker, I read enough from you before you came here to decide that.
Can you guys just move on already? It doesn't really matter anymore what the percentages are at Jesuit and CC. This topic did not need nearly 3 pages of discussion.

That's fine you're entitled to your opinion. Not back tracking my original post said athletes. Then you posted statistics on the entire student body. Sounds like you had decided you wanted to argue before I posted anything. Which is fine, feel free to challenge me on anything I say.

Not much different from kids who go to Marist. Their parents enroll them there because they believe they will get a superior education and that there will be greater accountability for poor behavior -- not because they're Catholic and they want them to go to a Catholic school.
