I always thought he was a little over valued in that regard. I still think he was more of a specialist than a traditional RB. He wasn't nearly as effective taking carries in-between the tackles than he was in other aspects. Maybe that hit at WSU had something to do with that? But I thought there was a noticeable drop off when Barner spelled James... particularly when we were in the redzone.

Interesting, I always thought there was not much of a change. Funny how that is.

Richardson is bigger, stronger, etc. and is probably the better pro prospect. LMJ is the better RB in college.

Ah…it read funny for some reason. I think they are both great backs. I can’t help but to wonder how LMJ would do in a pro style offense though…something tells me he will end up like Reggie.

We'll more than likely see next year, but unlike Reggie LMJ runs between the tackles and has never been afraid of contact. I think he will have a NFL career similar to Warrick Dunn except LMJ is bigger and faster.

I can see that. Except for the bigger part…they are both 5’9” and weight 180-185. Plus I think Dunn's 40 time was 4.28 and James is like 4.5.

ETA: HOLD THE PHONE...James is closing in on 200 pounds! Someone must of had their thumb on the scale

LMJ actually beefed up to 195 this offseason....He could conceviably get over 200 in an NFL training camp

A 10 pound increase is A LOT for a guy his size. Assuming it is all muscle and not just cake.

Barner said he played last year at 177, and now he's up over 190.

It will be interesting to see how helpful the extra weight will be and if they can maintain that weight throughout the season this year.

Yeah I was wondering if LMJ would keep his quickness after adding the extra LBS. If he can't then I say drop back down to 185. He was plenty strong at that weight...However if he can keep his quickness and add another 10 lbs of muscle then I'm all for it

I talked to some former UT players that played against both in the 08 title game. They said Trent Richardson ran harder than any back they'd ever played against. Harder than Ingram, K. Hunter, etc. "That dude ran like he had a chip on his shoulder. Like he had something to prove. I've never played against someone that strong. It was insane", as they put it.

Most talented RB in the country imo. As far as upperclassmen are concerned at least.

DAT is one of those rare utility players that comes across every three or 4 years. The Percy Harvin, Reggie Bush, Desean Jackson type. And I believed that when he was a Trojan.

The more I read about this kid, the more I can't wait to see him play!!
