WARD is a freaking killer out there. he is going to be talked about in locker rooms before every game. I cant wait to see him unleash on the smurf turf.. hope he turns it red!!!!!

Great discussion guys and who would have thought we'd even be able to make this argument our very next year (Post DD)! Both QBs are excellent (in there own right) and we have an excellent future ahead of us with JM and DT (who might be better than all of them when its all said and done)!

Getting back to the original discussion, DT has to RS unless he beats out JM other wise we are just wasting talent!

I can't wait for the spring game, Man oh man do I love our back field talent!!

Internet sarcasm is soooooooo difficult for some folks .

I have really enjoyed reading all the posts on this thread and the intriguing debate. I have been thinking bout my point of view as read the other posts. In regards to the original question about Darron Thomas.. I think ideally we should redshirt him but given our history of problems keeping our qb's healthy for a whole year do not know if it will happen.
My two cents on the Masoli... Dixon debate. First off when comes to Dixon his junior year he had so many mistakes nobody thought would be a heisman candidate... nobody thought had a chance at being National Champs. He threw more interceptions than he did touchdowns. His senior season though that all changed. Dixon grew up fast matured and made sure not to throw interceptions. One thing Dixon did was conceal whether he was truly handing the ball off or keeping it. Nobody really knew and he faked people including cameramen out. He was a lot better passing the ball. He defnitely brought excitement to oregon football his senior year.
Masoli... he had a really tough start and was thrown out there to see what he could do before was truly ready. He did not have a full grasp of the offense or the speed of the game in Division 1. He relied solely on the run for a lot of his games and could not throw the ball to an open receiver for nobody. All the sudden though when he broguht Oregon back in the Stanford game to secure the win when he played Arizona he had one of his best games to date. Then followed it up with a win against Oregon state and of course the Holiday bowl.
I think both are great for different reasons. I hope what we saw from Masoli.. is a work that makes him.. in the long run.. better than Dixon. Think potential is there.

I agree 100%......The "Whatever Nation" is so hokey that usage of the moniker, degrades the level that we have worked so long and hard to achieve....
If we can just get rid of the "Whatever Nations" and "Bringing Every One to Justice", it may be alot easier to keep from feeling ill on a daily basis...Its just

Great post GrandpaDuck. I think Masoli's upside is hard to measure even at this point. I think a whole year of practicing with his receivers getting their timing down, the sky is the limit the next two years. If the passing game is even a little better than last year, the running game will be even more deadly. Dang when is the spring game???
