Yep. UW looked really good. I think Boise State had to replace most of their defense from last season, though. I'll have to check my facts. Still, they got crushed.
I think this was a combination of Boise State not being as good as they have been in recent years, UW being better, and healthier, than they were last time they met, and UW having a major adrenaline rush from the new facilities and huge crowd.
Sark was smart to finally go up-tempo. They have some good skill position players and may be a challenge this year.
Yeah, kind of hate to admit it -- especially when it comes to UW -- after just one game, but the Huskies might just be legit this year. I think I read that it was the worst OOC loss for Petersen as BSU head coach ever.

It's his worst loss ever, period, I think. They had lost 5 games in 4 years by a combined 11 points or something like that.
Boise is just not very good this year, 19 was waaaay too high of a ranking. I'm friends with Brick Forse's brother (star WR there) and he was not excited about this years team. He was saying it was their worst team in a long time. I think UW is probably better than last year but they didn't beat a very good team.

Yeah, I'm torn between being really impressed with UW (gross) and accepting what my eyes told me was a subpar Boise team. In the end, I come down somewhere in the middle. Certainly the talent has been there at UW, and now that Sark has adopted the "most sincere form of flattery" approach to offense it seems to all be coming together for them. That being said, anyone who has watched BSU in recent history knows that isn't your typical Bronco team. I'm not sure what happened to their west coast, multi formation, multi shift offense...but the transition to a tempo zone read is not a great fit for their athletes.

I have a suspicion Petersen may not be the offensive genius many have declared him to be, but maybe more like Belloti... A decent head coach who has benefited from surrounding himself with good assistants.
Combine the roster changes with a new OC, and maybe, what you see is what you get?
Autzen Stadium... Where great teams go to die...Hard!
Not that it means anything, but . . . I'm recalling how the 2007 Huskies beat Boise St. in Seattle early in the season. That was the Bronco team right after that incredible Bowl victory over Oklahoma won by the 2 point conversion. The 2007 squad that followed that team wasn't a great Bronco team, but it certainly wasn't bad, either. And the Huskies finished 4-9.
But, again, I'm sure it means nothing in regard to this season . . .
I've been in Seattle for over a week now (watched the game with Poodle Alumni out at Indianola) and boy oh boy do they think they are World-Beaters now. I don't know if the paint on the stadium is just too fresh and they are all coming down off the fumes but they're going through a gauntlet real soon and we'll see just how good this team is after games against Arizona, Stanford, Oregon and Arizona St.
Is this the Huskies best chance to finally beat us?
New-er stadium. Just beat Boise. Honestly, this is their best supporting cast on offense in forever. Good WR core, and Sankey is a solid back. I think their OL will still have their issues, but I think Price might be able to manage finally.
I think a lot of such a "possibility" will have to do with how they fare vs. Arizona and then at Stanford before they play us. I have to think that will affect their psyche, potentially a lot. Though I don't think a loss to Stanford by itself means they will then go on to lose to the Ducks.
