It doesn't appear to be the case. Calabasas QB is listed as Jayden Casey, a 2020 recruit with 20+ offers committed to Fresno State.
They did have a coaching change in 2018, bringing in former USC great Chris Claiborne. Newspapers report the schedule was upgraded and last year reported as the toughest in the region. Better competition and the offensive philosophy could explain the stat decline. Teammate Mycah Pittman's receiving yards show 1329 in '16, 1027 in '17 and 824 last season.

They’ve had to spread the ball a ton last year. Him, Mycah, and 4* WR Jermaine Burton who is a stud himself.

I was not a fan of their QB, BTW
