Really wonder why a QB would leave a respectable program when he’s likely the starter the following year and end up fighting for a starting job elsewhere.
Was he passed on the depth chart?

It’s a new era. Potential Transfers are seeing success of other guys in different systems/environments and wanting to test it out. In Costello’s case he has an undergrad from Stanford - his ticket is punched for life. Why not take a shot at football as well?
I think he would have been Stanford’s starter next year. He’s wayyy better that Davis Mills and Stanford is due to bounce back - they got wrecked by injuries this year. I think they and Washington are our biggest competitors for the North in 2020.

By all accounts, Wells had beat him out. Neither guy is very good though. I'd rather roll with Tyler.

develop what we have on the roster and get a 3-4 year starter.

He announced he was committing and later signing in February, but within a couple of hours he went ahead and signed.

In the thread “surprise commit: Robby Ashford” Robby tweeted he is locked and will sign in February, but many media reports talk like he is signed such as the link below, leavin me unsure if he signed.

Thank you, that explains it.
