I wonder why both Cal and SC seem to have backed off. Cal in particular appears to be in need of a couple running backs this year.neezy3 wrote:yeah i agree i doubt they would let him travel all the way out here for a visit just to tell him they were yanking his schollie. I believe Jhop told us that they decided to pull munchies offer and thats why he didnt come out so i dont think that is the case here. the one thing i dont like is that we only really have two guys left on the board in seastrunk and lattimore and even though they say they're coming out to visit how many times have we been down this road before with the five star. i mean if usc can have five 5 stars without problems then whats the problem here. i just dont want to be s*** out of luck for this guy in two months because we were hoping for someone better. i dont know the situation or if he has bad grades but it seems kinda weird. Also, in his last rivals article he stated that he wasnt going to commit for awhile and was going to take some more visits. He was also waiting to hopefully hear back from cal and usc but i dont think they have any interest cause he said he hadn't heard from them in a month or so.

He talks about his sister in this article as well about not committing so far from home and waiting to see if he hears from other schools. He says he has heard a little from Minnesota and Iowa State and that's about it. Oregon has been in contact with the the most by far. He talked it over with Kelly and Kelly told him he won't keep the offer out there forever, if someone else comes along, first come first serve.

Wow, sounds more like indecisiveness on his part rather than the coaches. How did that work for Munchie?gofightingducks wrote:http://oregon.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1011384

Chip's probably getting tired of these kids jacking the Ducks around ( Terrel Pryor. Bryce Brown, Taj Boyd, etc ) hence the no visit, no commit policy now.

Rivals is saying there is probably a good chance Williams will not be a Duck. It sounds like he lacks direction and will miss out on the chance to play at Oregon because the coaches are moving on.

Re: D.WIlliams update
That really sucks. Is there another back out there that the Ducks think they have a great shot at? I would like for it to be Latt or Lache but I don't think it's realistic to expect that we have one of those guys locked up.gofightingducks wrote:Rivals is saying there is probably a good chance Williams will not be a Duck. I am still incapable of feeling really bad about this situation. It's still a long way of from signing day, and we've got three 4/5 star guys all strongly considering Oregon, with one 4 star already on board, and Kenjon and LaMichael only being Freshmen, there is no need to worry about the RB situation for the next few years.

Re: D.WIlliams update
I wondering if Kenjon is going to be playing RB his entire career or just for this year because of the lack of depth there after Blount's suspension. If he's going to be there full-time for his career then I say we really only need 2 RBs this class since that would give us 5 RBs (James, Barner, Alston, Grant, and 1 other RB recruit). If he's going to be moved back to CB, then they are going to need 3 RBs this class and I would say you they need to get Williams to be at that number.

Those who have good connections w/the program say there is no plan to return Barner to defense in the near future (like next year).

They talked about Lattimore on ESPNU Recruiting Insider today, they also talked about Uko. Lattimore is now showing interest in Tennesee, great just what the Ducks need. They already have Brown.

Why would anyone want to play for Kiffin?

Re: D.WIlliams update
I think it's less about needing X amount of backs but its finding a bigger back to go along with LMJ, KB, and Grant down the road. I wish we would have made a harder push for Cam Marshall last year.
BOOF it!

Re: D.WIlliams update
Maybe the coaches have their eye on another Blount in the JC ranks that no one is really aware of yet. They then could go after some big time RB's the next few years.
They've already got Tyson Coleman for 2011 at 6'2" 195 now, he could be 220-225lbs by his freshman year.
Something is going on.

Re: D.WIlliams update
Wouldn't make him the first Duck defensive player moved to a more interesting position, would it?
