Maybe. 4 star TE Christian Thomas visited this weekend. might have wiffed.
Not necessarily. Assuming Thomas red shirts 1 year, there would only be a 1 year overlap, which would be just enough for a red shirt freshman to get some experience.

Also, keep in mind that the Ducks have been trotting out a lot of dual-TE sets. Even though running hasn't been a problem in the past, don't think for a second this hasn't helped a green O-line and a couple first year backs thrive. Great move early on by Coach Kelly, I'm sure a lot of linebackers and safeties would much rather see a WR coming at them than Dickson or Paulson.

The kid was a 4* recruit out of HS in Texas and signed with A&M, so it's not like he isn't a talented player.

I dont think its the same guy. But I could be wrong. He has a different hometown than the A&M guy.

Any thought that Kelly may want the extra beef in order to utilize some of the extra lineman sets he witnessed at Stanford?

The guy like to scheme around the players he has available, you know.

I rode from Eugene to SF on the same plane as Christian Thomas, also a tight ends. I ask about his visit and he said it was great but without much enthusiasm. He was still wearing his Oregon VIP sideline plastic ticket but no Duck gear.

He is a stud. With a new TE commit, Paulson developing into a sure handend receiver and solid blocker and D. Jordon, do we have room for another TE or athlete?

What's more likely: Curtis White redshirts or converts to DE?

The latter seems likely if we don't land King or Owa.

I originally thought the A&M guy and Brandon were the same, but if you look at facial features, they don't look alike IMO.

I was about to post this. The two don't really look alike. Not the same guys.

Anyone have any more info on this kid? Did he have any other offers? Can we expect him to eventually be rated as a 3 or 4 star player?
