Bad week for the Pac. I still think the new Pac is clearly better than the new MW, but just a really bad look to get outmaneuvered. Nothing that happened this week did anything to help OSU or WSU regain their lost relevance.

The Pac-12's biggest mistake was trying to bite off chunks of the MWC in two different batches. They should have gone after the AAC schools first and then moved onto the MWC, which wouldn't have allowed the MWC to come up with the plan to keep 7 teams around.

Really botched this. I like the idea of a 'premiere' G5 conference that has limited separation from the Big 12, and now we end up with a heaping mess.

The big 2 are already maneuvering to be the only voices that matter. The fact that these 2 schools still think there will be anything other than 2 conferences the shots, boggles my mind.

What I also don’t understand, they went and got Gonzaga, smart in my opinion. Why not also go get Grand Canyon, St. Mary’s and Creighton. Become a solid basketball conference?

They don't have Gonzaga yet.

This whole thing is dumb. They obviously had no plan other than to go back on their word to the very conference that threw them a scheduling lifeline. The only way keeping the Pac 12 alive makes sense is if they had some hope of getting Stanford and Cal back, but adding Fresneck and Boise killed that anyway. They should have just joined the Mountain West in 2 years and kept the Pac 12 money.
