Until I see senior tape, I still prefer Fahey. Players who excel in shorts and a tshirt have been overrated for as long as football players have worn cleats.

Personally our football recruiting since Lanning has taken over has been exceptional. It's hard for me to say anything negative about any player we've landed via HS or portal at this point.
Baseball and basketball is a different story. Lack of money is clearly causing both those teams to grasp for depth at a lower tier of talent.

Ducks offer 2026 QB Bryson Beaver (EDIT: Quack?)
He announced on X that he committed.
Overall a solid get, there is high potential and the reality is Oregon can’t pay what Georgia and BYU can cause we have a much lower need for an immediate young QB. We are set for a while with Moore/Novasad, Moga, and Akili, so a project like Beaver with a high ceiling seems ideal for where the QB room is at. I’m sure he’s much more willing than Curtis and Lyons to sit for at least a couple years before potentially starting.

QUACK! Oregon finally lands Bryson Beaver on the same day he was bumped up to #17 on 247 Sports' QB rankings.

A Beaver and Washington will be playing for the dux. Is there a Mr Husky prospect of any quality to put it on the nose any more?

Bryson Beaver is now rated as the 5th best QB in the country, ahead of Ryder Lyons and Jonas Williams.

No way. Ratings changed based on shorts and tshirt performance is as accurate as it gets.chapelhillduck wrote: Mon Jul 14, 2025 6:24 pm This just feels so arbitrary

Performed well at elite 11 and got a flood of offers from elite colleges, so makes sense.
Although gotta admit I’m surprised he got ranked ahead of Lyons, but ironically I’ll take it lol.

Which HS FB prospect rating site is the most accurate/highly regarded these days?

Beavers rise reminds me of Ty Thompson after elite 11. I would be more excited if he got bumped up after a series of in-game performances.

I would still say 247Sports, but I don't think there's a huge gap between them and On3.alxtw wrote: Mon Jul 14, 2025 10:39 pm Which HS FB prospect rating site is the most accurate/highly regarded these days?

While I see your point, and agree to some extent. You can’t ignore that guys like Mariota and Mariel didn’t move up the rankings or even get offers, until UO offered them and other teams saw them in shorts. And I can only imagine what the elite 11 and rankings would have thought, if Herbert cared to go to 7 v 7 and elite 11 camps.

Mariota sort of famously did not get a ratings bump or much higher interest from doing the circuit. The skinny future Heisman winner didn't make it out of the Elite 11 regionals.buckmarkduck wrote: Sun Jul 27, 2025 7:43 amStevensTechU wrote: Mon Jul 14, 2025 6:32 pmNo way. Conversely, Travis Waller (Jonsen) and Morgan Mahalak were finalists.
