This is only our second year of really recruiting abroad. And not only are we doing it, but we are going after the best out there. MB did not recruit out this far in his tenure. THis will take time, unless we win like USC, and we don't have that yet. It hurts right now but if we don't start doing it, we will never get into that elite level we are working towards. Losing BOyd sucks but it really doesn't hurt.

I think that everybody on this board would take their class right now. They can't seem to be content with what is now the #2 class in the country right now. Boy are those Suckeye fans arrogant.

MOPS, AJ, and TK1:

This is your board. Feel free to ban schmucks like the original poster. By 'feel free,' I mean PLEASE DO SO. This board does not need to become like Open Season on eDuck or OLive. Keep this board free of idiots.

I wonder if some people in here are real Duck Fan--so negative about our coaches (Ok, maybe beside our DC)

People need to know: WE ARE OREGON---NOT USC OR ANY BIG TIME PROGRAM---YET.

I CAN TELL YOU THIS, WE WILL HAVE MORE THAN 4 FIVE STARS SIGNEES NEXT YEAR.

I think right now, the Ducks' recruiting is going through some growing pains in expanding their recruiting reach. The coaches will experience some hardship in the beginning but hopefully their persistence back east will pay off in the future. As the saying goes "No pain, no gain."

Feel free to ban yourself.

Maybe you should change your handle to KingOfD*cks, since you are acting like one.

We're all upset...and rightly so. Deal with it. You've just called me an "idiot" and a "schmuck". If mops is going to start banning people for namecalling then you have certainly jumped to the front of the line.
Try to ban me...I steal wifi so I get a new IP each time I log on.

No need to ban anyone, especially after the frustrating news today. Some people just have to realize that even though it might be negative, venting is healthy and a normal thing to do.

You shouldn't ban someone for having an opinion, even if it's not a very bright one

I think we need a venting board. I'm tired of a recruiting board getting mucked with flighty opinions and people just wanting to read their own writing.

Couldn't agree more! I come on "The War Room" to read about & discuss recruiting. Not read some 40 year old baby whine about how our coaches suck at recruiting & don't know what they're doing.

We are all upset, but when you start making idiotic claims, "chip can't close," gives me and anyone else permission to call you an idiot. Jim Tressel couldn't close on Boyd either. There is always some coach who "couldn't close." Pryor wasn't ours to close last year, he never made the trip last year.

The fact the we are even getting these big time recruits to look at us is a huge step and we are not USC. Your expectations are idiotic. Think of this board as the Jungle (e.g. Jim Rome). Have a good take...or get out. Your take sucked.

Why not? C4Q used to be a very unknown board and was home to nothing but intelligent posters. Now that it's reputation is expanding, Open Season and OLive posters start coming on here and make this into another board where they can complain incessantly and unjustifiably bash coaches that have done great things for us...like Chip Kelly.

This is not a major board, this can be an elitist board if the admins choose so, and I think they should. It would be nice to have a board of intelligent posters.

It's funny you say things like this. What if I turned it around and said "I come to this board to read intelligent football discussion. Not read some 15 year old who gets his facts wrong, asks dumb questions, and makes silly, baseless predictions."

You like?

maybe, you could say chip didn't close or hasn't closed and then back it up with a legit argument but, he has more than made up for his not closing on a couple players with his amazing coaching!!!
For all we know he see's more potential growth in other players, I know it sucks not getting boyd but kelly could turn a lot of no names into boyd's..

I have been reading the bickering going on here. I fully support Chip Kelly and the coaches going after the top talent no matter where they are. I do think we should focus more on the west coast and go after those guys as the distance is not such a big factor.. however I do not look at recruiting and think we should be close minded about recruiting the east coast. No we are not USC and we have a ways to go to get there but we are being considered by these top recruits something i can tell you was rare if ever happened that they would mention us in same breath as USC Florida Ohio State Texas.. Oklahoma etc etc. In the last 10 years alone we have beat some top notch schools and that will help with our recruiting and someday we will achieve those great heghts. As for the recruits saying will sign with Oregon.. I mentioned this before the ducks will need to continue to recruit these guys strongly as the distance is long ways from their homes and teams closer to them like Florida Miami Florida State South Florida will all be after them and lot closer so keep pushing we will get there.. that I know for sure.
