Ernie broke up in tears after the game talking about the pit crew and the teams development, I really think he wants this job....(as if we really didn't know this already)

I'll stick by what I said before the season: No tourny, no more Ernie. This program is still underachieving. It shouldn't take half of the pac-10 schedule to start playing well. They had a good weekend and some adjustments were made, but I want to see that for the majority of the season.

also with the beavs losing the ducks are out of last place

lol, the guy who got the Technical for USC has already been fired. Apparently, when you are a graduate manager its a good idea not to get a technical foul in a two point game...who woulda thunk that

I don't see it. Practically the whole class is soph's. Unless Kent's strategy is to rely on people transferring because of lack of playing time the team will have serious problems with numbers in a couple years. This has got to be part of the evaluation as well as player input. We have to remember that even .500 in this league this year is not good.

See thats the thing, what you posted is what SHOULD go into the evaluation. Anyone with half a brain would look at those things & realize that Kent needs to go. But I could easily see MB looking at the season & going, "Ok, you won a couple games to end the season & cried in your post game interview... go ahead & stay for awhile longer." Then when the 10 sophmores graduate & the team is garbage Kent will just whip out the youth excuse. I can seriously see this pattern continuing for another 5-6 years.

I guess until I'm going to give MB the benefit of the doubt until he proves me differently. Ernie's pattern has gone through a few cycles like this. I think MB took this job knowing this might be the first big decision he was going to have to make.

It all depends what provisions Kilkenny put in place. It's no secret that Ernie and Bellotti are pretty good friends, and we all know Bellotti can be loyal to a fault, but if there's a clause in there somewhere that specifically says Ernie needs to reach the NCAA Tournament... we might be good to go.

If it comes down to a personal decision, and Ernie gets this team into the NIT or something, then I really think Kent returns next season. Not saying he should, rather I just don't see Bellotti pulling the trigger. Unfortunately.

THAT SAID, I dont know if 17-13 will be good enough for the NIT this year. Despite how awful it is this season, the Pac-10 has (I think, I'm too lazy to look it up) 8 teams over .500 right now. If only one or two get into the Big Dance, we're going to stuff the NIT with Pac-10 schools. It'll all come down to finances, and we haven't been selling out many games the last couple of years. It's entirely possible we don't even reach the NIT, even if we finish over .500.
