Wow, are you seriously going back and copying & pasting my quotes?! You were right, woohoo! So I don't know where this comment comes from...
Also, Dion Jordan was recruited to be a WR, so yes, he came in as a WR.
You said:
"Couldn't agree more! I come on "The War Room" to read about & discuss recruiting. Not read some 40 year old baby whine about how our coaches suck at recruiting & don't know what they're doing."
I said:
"What if I turned it around and said "I come to this board to read intelligent football discussion. Not read some 15 year old who gets his facts wrong, asks dumb questions, and makes silly, baseless predictions."
Remember?

And thanks for the avatar compliment NCDucks. You should copy this this post so you can use it for future reference, like Pontius "Master of the Messege Board".

Drew Davis rated #38 WR.NCDucks09 wrote:Drew Davis ('07) = 4*
Terrence Scott ('07) = 4*
James Finely ('05) = 4*
Cameron Colvin ('04) = 5*
And we had Derrick Jones and Jamere Holland (4* WR Transfer from USC) from '06.
It's not like we aren't getting high caliber guys.
During D.Jordan's recruitment, he was highly regarded as a flex between TE/WR.
Finley was recruited in 2004 and were in 2009, that's 5 years ago
Cameron Colvin 2003.
The only "high calibur" players that we have gotten since 2004 is Derrick Jones/Jamere Holland and they were both JC's

Scott and Davis are debateable. They were 4 star guys, but weren't on the level of someone like Colvin. I would agree that in the last few years, we have struggled to bring in "big time" wide receivers. Maybe it's because we are more "run oriented", who knows!!!!!

I believe NCDucks was referring to dthomas=ddixon's assertion that we haven't historically recruited high-caliber WRs, so his post was justified in that regard.
Your post, however; isn't very well researched.
Colvin was recruited in 2004, not 2003. Davis was regarded as the best WR in the West by Greg Biggins and had a bunch of high quality offers to prove it. Both Derrick Jones and Jamere Holland never attended JC. They both came straight from USC. Jones was actually re-recruited after not being deemed eligible at USC, so he counts as a player recruited instead of a transfer. And Dion Jordan was actually very highly recruited and Terence Scott was a 4* JC. Nice try though.

Yep, took all of about ten seconds to look up the thread that I pasted the quotes from. I pasted it because you failed in that thread to see the point I was trying to make. Do you see it now? You said you came here for intelligent discussion and you called others babies for their critical questioning of recruiting tactics. I'm simply making the point that you can't have an intelligent discussion when others, such as yourself, do not bring verifiable facts to a discussion and instead make baseless, uninformed assertions.

How is it debateable that Scott and Davis were considered high-caliber recruits? The point wasn't whether we were failing at recruiting top 3 WR, 5* star recruits. The point someone was "trying" to make was that we haven't historically recruited high-caliber WR recruits. And it's a patently false claim as the facts prove.

Yeah, I agree. It just seems like we haven't done as well lately.

I agree with you there. Let's hope Frost can close some of these guys and then we can put this issue to rest.

Nice implication not that it has merit. You seem to like to dish it out but you don't seem capable of taking it. So you resort to making things up.dthomas=ddixon wrote:Dude its a messege board, don't take it so seriously.Pontius wrote:dthomas=ddixon wrote:

On a scale of 1-10 with one being "my slushie fell on the ground" and ten being "my arms got stuck in an auger", I'd say the seriousness level in this conversation would a one.

Ok this is the last thing I'm going to post on this conversation cuz I really don't care that much BUT I'm going to say it again, IT'S A MESSEGE BOARD, not every post is going to be well thought & researched like you want it to be. I always try to bring something & contribute when I make a post. Guess what? sometimes I make an ignorant statement that I didn't really think out. I definitely don't need Pontius "the meesege board policeman" correcting me & telling me how I wrong was, though. So in closing, I understand you have great wisdom that is far beyond anything I can imagine but if you take everything that's posted on a messege board so seriously, you really need to reconsider your priorities in life.
Keep up the good work though cuz you honestly bring some good knowledge to the board & I appreciate your contributions.
