The most problematic thing about this thread IMO is just the title, which indicates definiteness. Maybe the title of the thread could just be changed to something like, "Did Stevens turn us down? . . . " or something.

ESPN now reporting the Stevens rumor that Killkenny is basically stalking him.

PK is back in Eugene now. So unless Stevens is with him(Kidnapped perhaps?) he's not stalking him.

I now think that Kilkenny may be leaning towards someone in the NBA since they still haven't hired anyone. When they started the search, they said they wanted someone by the time of the Final Four, which meant they were after a college coach. With the search still going, it now seems they are waiting for the NBA season to end so they can interview coaches. They may not even hire someone then since they may even wait for a new AD to be hired, which could possibly take another month to complete. Any way you look at it, this search is going slower than they thought it would.

Yes I don't mind the thead it is just the title. And yes,the sports dud was just passing on idle rumors, not solid info on Masoli. And yes Masoli turned out to be a guilty idiot, but we did not need to know he was until after signing day.

They weren't waiting for the nba season to be done. They were waiting for the final four to be over to talk with Stevens. Despite what twitter says we do not know the outcome of those talks.

Maybe Oregon goes back to one of the previous coaches they were interested in (Turgeon, Few, etc) and makes them a better offer.

He just signed a 12 year deal to stay at Butler.

You know what? Good for him!

Who says that you can't have your cake and eat it too? He gets to stay at home where he grew up, his family is happy, he's got a job that he loves and now he's got financial security.

Bravo!

I hope he finishes #2 in the nation for the next 12 years - right behind my Ducks. :D

And there's now no question that this thread's title is accurate.

At the very least, it would be nice to hear that all these coaches are sending the UO notes of thanks for allowing them to get better contracts from their own schools. Not to say that any supposed Oregon offers are the only reason for that, but it's hard to believe they haven't figured in here and there . . .
