But I wouldn't be surprised if he is still working just prior to the wedding and shortly after.

LOL what? I'm pretty sure we'd offer more than 2 mil to both..
Then why even talk to the guy!!??

That makes no sense.......

Anderson turned down 2 million last year from Georgia and he makes up to 2.25 million with incentives at Missouri

And at the same time, somebody on the eDuck premium Oregon Hoops forum just posted "Mike Anderson to Oregon for $3.5/year"...

Sorry, I have no subscription, so somebody else will have to track this one down to see if it has legs.

The thread on eDuck is bunk. The guy is messing around.

Rick Majerus? USC wouldn't touch him after they fired Bibby because he's a walking heart attack waiting to happen. I just can't see Oregon going that route. Good coach, terrible human being (so I've heard), terrible health. No thanks.

Posted 1 hour ago in "The Missourian":

http://www.columbiamissourian.com/stori ... -anderson/

"Missouri team spokesman Dave Reiter confirmed Friday morning that Oregon asked for permission to speak with Anderson “late last night” and Missouri granted that permission. Asked, via text message, if Anderson will make a statement today, Reiter said, “If he wants to, he will.” An interview request for Anderson was denied, and a phone message left for Anderson's agent, Memphis-based Jimmy Sexton, was not returned. Chad Moller, Missouri's assistant athletic director for media relations, said via e-mail that athletic director Mike Alden is unavailable to comment."

"Another university would have to pay Missouri $550,000 to buy out Anderson's contract."

If anything were to happen, it would probably be tomorrow before anything official would be said.

Another article, from the Oregonian: http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindducksb ... ouris.html
Silva makes some good points: among them that Missouri will be hard pressed to match and Anderson's agent will likely press the issue, and the permission requested and given generally means talks are well under way.

Let's keep this in perspective....THIS IS THE OREGONIAN....and lets face it, journalism isnt their strong suit....I think I will consult the enquirer or Ms. Cleo for more accurate info....

I hope we get Anderson and get him soon. For what it's worth, there is a post on Mops twitter saying that Terrence Jones would choose Oregon if Anderson is the next coach.

http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketba ... e-anderson

"If I were a Missouri fan, I'd be freaking out right now."

"Now, Anderson has talent rolling in, a guard-heavy No. 11-ranked recruiting class primed to keep Missouri in the tournament for years to come.

That is, if Mike Anderson doesn't go to Oregon. That "if" is getting bigger by the day."

"If they (Missouri) want to keep Anderson, it's time to pony up."

"Does Missouri want to be a steppingstone or not? It's time to decide.

The result of that decision will have a lot to do with whether Mike Anderson becomes Oregon's latest shiny toy. Missouri's pocketbooks versus Oregon's. Mano a moneyo. Like I said, if I were a Missouri fan, I'd be freaking out right now."
