Families are invoking their wises on their kids and forgetting what the kids want to do a la Boyd. Do not get me wrong I understand how important family is but when I went to college my folks left it up to me and supported me fully when i left the roost. Of course they missed me and wanted me close to home but they knew I was growing up and I needed my independence and they still loved me.

Too long, huh? Meaning you couldn't read it? Or you just didn't want to expend that much effort? Either way, if that's your best effort, don't bother posting. This guy's post has a lot of good information and opinion, and was better written than 90 percent of the posts on here. Too long, sheesh.
