Update on Polee

hiring his dad isn't worth it.

i understand your point if the only reason to hire his dad was to get the recruit, then of course don't do that. but there's been speculation that the connections Polee Sr has and his bball knowledge and his personality would make him a great asst coach for anybody. i just posted that the ncaa is cracking down on these package deals, but personally i think both Jr and Sr could both do some good things here at Oregon, i'm just not sure we'd be allowed to bring aboard both.

I'm not sure he's even thinking about a possible job at Oregon. I don't think he would try putting Altman in an uncomfortable situation since they've been friends for almost a decade now. Polee Sr. probably trusts Altman with his son so that is why he recommended his son take a visit up here. Polee Sr. seems to have his son's interests at heart and isn't trying to ride his son's coattails for another job.

You also have to weigh in the mess that USC basketball is in with the NCAA. It's so bad that USC preemptively suspended themselves from post season play. I'm not sure what kind of role Polee SR had with that, but it cant be good.
