I am not that worried. Blount has expressed how much he wanted to stay, passed on the draft and got the job done in the fall with his grades. Hopefully this will be a wake up call but he know how important to his career and finances his senior year will be for next years draft

Yeah, like you say, this is potentially devestating for the team (and fans!), but for Blount, personally, even worse! Let's surely hope for both reasons that he can work his way back on the team, he has such a bright future in front of him! Come on LeGarrette!!

Funny how so many people think screwing around (Or screwing up... Whatever blows your skirt up.) like Onterrio Smith (I am not saying this is the case here, as I have no personal or 'inside' info.), is acceptable, unless you get in trouble with the coach, endangering the future of your career and your team. If you know a certain behavior is going to be a problem when you get caught, the answer is simple... Don't do it, Sherlock!

I realize these are 'kids' compared to me (Heck, I'm 55...), but I had that little tidbit figured out well before I was ready for college. It's not rocket science.

C'mon guys, get your act together, and LGB, you need to get back to making your Grandma proud!

Okay, not to be a worry wart - BUT, in reading all of the press today on the subject, is there anybody in the know on here that can calm the situation down?

Are we really going to be in trouble with this as is currently being projected in the media, or are we okay? Any actual insider info?

Here is the deal with the media: in todays day and age they are sensationalist in their approach and are always doom and gloom to get readership. Insiders that I trust say this is not a huge deal. This is to get the point across to him that we are not messing around here and "kid tow the line". If you read into when I say he has history of problems in the area he got in trouble for you may realize what he allegedly did and why, as long as he gets the point, it will not be a big deal. This is nothing he can't correct himself by being responsible.

Many thanks. I like to believe those in the know vs. the "trying to sell a paper" media. Kids!! If they only understood how hard it is for us regular folks & how lucky they are to be where they are at, it truly amazes me!

Personally, I'm worried about this situation. If it is academics, what if these guys don't qualify again? IMO, losing Blount would be almost as big as losing Dixon, and Pritchett isn't too shabby either. He was ranked as the #2 ranked MLB in the country by scout when we got him.

A focused Pritchett has the potential to be a big part of an effective defense for the Ducks. Blount? His impact goes without saying.

Get with the program, fellas!

Its hard to say "what" the problem is.. Clearly this is not good for Oregon Football.. Pritchett was rated VERY high as a recruit.. Not exactly sure where all the "indifference" to his involvement with the program is coming from?

Hopefully whatever the problem is gets addressed and fixed asap. Certainly makes you wonder WTF happened?

I don't think it's indifference to him being a part of the program as much as it is that he hasn't really been a part of it yet. He missed most of last season and hasn't really proven himself on the field, so we don't know what we're missing.

This kind of stuff happens every year about this time. Just a pre-emptive shot across the bow to let them both know that MB means business when it comes to his rules. I've heard Blount has been struggling with academics since he's been here. Time to hit the books big guy and not screw up your NFL career and $$$.

as long as it isn't along the lines of what Jackie Bates did to get the boot, he should be fine.

What did Jackie Bates end up doing anyways? Was it ever reported?
