Lockie should be the man until Vernon is 100 percent healed.
Until then, Lockie simply knows more of the playbook, and he can actually play with tempo and get the ball out to playmakers.
And if Lockie shines, he should keep the job. I'd love to see him play without taking over in such a big hole.
Alan was right.

Start Addison. Lockie just plain sucks and VA just doesn't have it upstairs it seems. I think people are blaming the broken finger too much, I think he just doesn't have the mentality to be a good FBS QB, he has the skill set it seems, just not the mindset.pezsez1 wrote:Lockie should be the man until Vernon is 100 percent healed.

Right now it doesn't matter who starts the way the offensive line is playing, qb's have been bad for sure, but O line is helping them at all. Left in the third quarter, first time I ever left a game early. On the way walking back this guy was telling us he's been going to games for 35 years and tonight was the first one he's left early.

I left the Oklahoma game early. Can't believe I'm admitting that.OregonFan4Life wrote:I've never left a game early, but I'd leave too.Zyme wrote:Welp im probably walking out on this game. Ive never done that in 13 straight years of attending ducks games

Glad I followed my, "Don't drink and post" rule last night. I probably would have been banned from the forums.

That's a rule I learned to follow a while back. I hated waking up and seeing what I had posted the night before, so I haven't drank and posted for a few years and I hope I continue to restrain myself.QuackininBama wrote:Glad I followed my, "Don't drink and post" rule last night. lol, I know exactly what your talking about. I used to be real bad about that, especially on political forums so like yourself, I had to just make it a rule for myself and stick to it. My posts would have just been "LOL" over and over again. That was all I could do last night was laugh. I don't know the last time I watched a team get beaten that badly in every facet of the game.QuackininBama wrote:lol, I know exactly what your talking about. I watched our elite defensive recruits get outrun by a 6'7 white guy who looks like he probably isn't allowed within 1,000 feet of schools. Laugh was all I could do. This season could go sideways REALLY quickly if something (I don't know what) doesn't change.

Re: Utah @ Oregon (Saturday 5:45 PM FOX)
One thing I've learned over the years after a good team has a game like this is that the Ducks aren't really as bad as they looked and Utah, although they are a good team, isn't as good as we made them look.
I was actually concerned about Travis Wilson NOT playing, because Kendall Thompson was said to be the better option QB. Facing an offense that has a back like Booker but can also run the option effectively is tough!
I never in a million years expected Wilson to play like that - especially with the injury to his shoulder. I have no doubt that it caught Oregon off guard, too. The guy hadn't even thrown a TD pass all year either! All of the sudden the defense went from having to focus on Booker, to having to respect the run from Wilson, to giving up easy passing TDs.
Our defense obviously needs work and needs to grow up in the secondary, but much of the credit has to go to the Utah coaching staff. They drew up an outstanding game plan and my hat's off to them. Honestly, it shouldn't have been that effective, though, because everyone thought the Ducks would be able to score on them, but once Adams struggled badly and Lockie was mostly ineffective, things quickly fell apart and the rout was on.
I think we'll be better, but there are definitely a few things that must be addressed.

It was a beating, no way around it, BUT, the score itself was a bit deceiving. Three of those touchdowns were trick plays and its rare to see a team run that many trick plays in a game and be successful at ALL of them. The runningback pass, the fake punt and run (How a punter outruns the entire defense is beyond me, totally humiliating), the fake punt reception (that was brilliant, EVERYONE was fooled), and while not a trick play, the pick 6. Its rare, extremely rare when just EVERYTHING works for a team, even their mistakes end up working for them so while we got beat, and beat good, the final score didn't really tell the real story.
In fact it hit me, this was a reverse Rose Bowl/the Florida State game. Just EVERYTHING worked for us to the point it was just comical. It was just our turn.

That's a good observation. Sometimes all the pieces fall in place and it has a domino effect. FSU was better than that, too, but it just wasn't their day.QuackininBama wrote:It was a beating, no way around it, BUT, the score itself was a bit deceiving. Come on, this is way more than "Everything that could go wrong did go wrong." There's a reason coaches never say that, because the truth is, the pieces fall into place for the teams that are more prepared, and there is no doubt that Utah was 10,000X more prepared for that game than Oregon was.

Totally unexpected, but Utah played outstanding in all three aspects of the game.
Good luck to you guys on the rest of the season.
GO UTES!
