There’s been no smoke with Foreman for a few months now. If he stays on the west coast, it will be USC

Only way to we can match the level of recruiting at those perennial top recruiting schools is to also match their level of on-field performance and making the CFP almost every year.OregonFan4Life wrote:Just what tOSU needs with their already monster class, two top 10 players! Gotta love recruiting. Even though Mario has done amazing things for Oregon recruiting it'll still be hard to match what the likes of Bama, tOSU, and Clemson do. Maybe someday, but those three teams recruit at a level that's currently impossible for Oregon to match.lukeyrid13 wrote:For JTT, if he wants to stay on the west coast we get him. Still hoping for Oregon to land Ika and either Foreman or JTT! Landing Ika would feel like a 5 star recruit.
How can you do that though if you can't recruit as well as them?alxtw wrote:Only way to we can match the level of recruiting at those perennial top recruiting schools is to also match their level of on-field performance and making the CFP almost every year.OregonFan4Life wrote:Just what tOSU needs with their already monster class, two top 10 players! Let's not act like our recruiting isn't that far away and that we play in a conference closer to the ACC than SEC in regards to strength/depth.OregonFan4Life wrote: How can you do that though if you can't recruit as well as them?

Nothing I have seen from our interior DL guys expected back for 2021 is exciting, so we could really use a boost there.
to me this is such BS because when everyone is supposedly equal, coaching is supposed to be the edge.jimmy12 wrote:GoDucksTroll wrote:The word is that Ika is down to Utah or Oregon. I believe he received one crystal ball to the Utes. He is perfect for what the Ducks need. (besides S)
Ducks also need a full offseason where Feld can reimplement the 4th quarter program. What was once an advantage for the Ducks is now an even playing field. I get it. no one had an offseason. I agree. I also believe, however, that the Ducks training and intensity does give them a power advantage. This advantage or differentiator is now gone.
I don't think it's the facilities, but the time with the players. Let's be real, when the season was canceled, I'm sure there were players that slacked off conditioning wise thinking they could get ramped back up in the Spring or whenever they came back. Also, players not having access to a gym in general, outside of maybe equipment at their home, for an extended period of time, led to a drastically different offseason regimen. I agree that all Pac-12 teams probably suffered from this a bit, but I don't think you gain an edge in that department from a short 3 week period before the season, but rather the overall offseason conditioning program long-term. I'm far from an expert in strength & conditioning, so I'm not claiming that with certainty, but I can definitely see that being a factor. I think you see the benefits of the offseason program long-term rather than a rushed 3 week period to get guys into basic game shape.Duck07 wrote:to me this is such BS because when everyone is supposedly equal, coaching is supposed to be the edge.jimmy12 wrote:GoDucksTroll wrote:The word is that Ika is down to Utah or Oregon. If Feld needs A+ facilities to hold an edge he might not be the guy we need in that role.
The thing is though that every team we've played has had to suffer the same problems which is why coaching is supposed to help overcome this.droop10 wrote: I don't think it's the facilities, but the time with the players. Because he’s hyper, has a cool mustache, and he goes viral on social media.StevensTechU wrote:I've actually been wondering how Feld hasn't had the finger pointed at him during all of these discussions. If it was still Radcliffe, he'd be getting skewered for having DL show up 15-20 pounds lighter to be supposedly 'faster.'
I don't assign to much blame to Feld. The heavy lifting, pun intended, is supposed to happen in the late winter/spring and then again leading up to fall camp, with tapering to the season.StevensTechU wrote:I've actually been wondering how Feld hasn't had the finger pointed at him during all of these discussions. So if we lost a supposed advantage, it means the people involved aren't as talented as we believe them to be.jimmy12 wrote:
100% agree with this. I am not making excuses, I am saying that a drop off was inevitable when there was no team and hype. Most players didn't have a access t weights. Well, neither did anyone else. It just meant it was an even playing field for everyone. Meaning- Ducks lost this advantage.
