Its great that the staff is using the alums and the alums are agreeing to come back to help out. We need more of these types of events/tactics with top recruits, like how Oklahoma used a BBQ event last week with its successful NFL alums and visiting top recruits.

He's cancelled his visit to Bama and eliminated them as an option. My assumption is this has to be good for the Ducks. They got the last visit, and immediately after he cancels his trip to Bama? Trying not to get my hopes too far up, but hard to view this as anything but a good sign.

I think that means it could still be Oregon, tOSU or the poodles but I agree its still a good sign for us.

Always good when someone we're recruiting doesn't visit Bama.

But hard to tell where things are at. I do believe a lot of decisions get made within the last few days of announcing, especially after taking a bunch of visits and then discussing with family. Anything is possible.

I saw the news saying that he cancelled to trip to Alabama, which makes me hopeful he SOMEHOW commits to UO, but I have a feeling he will commit to Ohio State.

Meanwhile I keep praying every night so that we win a national championship so the UO haters can shut up for once.

I hate to say it but I think it might be Ohio St. As well. No inside scoop, just a hunch.

I don't want to get my hopes up either. Some OSU people are saying that he couldn't cancel his trip after Ohio State since his travel plans had him going straight from Columbus to Eugene. So we did get the last trip but it may have been by default, not choice. I read somewhere on an OSU board that said that the Oregon coaches didn't have that great of a feel of where his head was after the visit. Could be made up but just sharing what I saw.

I gotta think that a kid that lives in Seattle could definitely find his way home if he didn’t want to be in Eugene for an official visit. Also, where are these OSU guys getting intel on Oregon coaches? That could only come from one of the boards, and if JHop or someone else who has Oregon ties posted it, we would have almost certainly heard about it.

Edit - I should have added, thanks ducks5ever for sharing. If nothing else, it is interesting to know what the competition is thinking. My point is just I don’t think it’s grounded in reality.

The update with a quote from JTT was that after the 2 visits to Oregon and Ohio St it affirmed what he knew “for a while now”. It’s Ohio st sadly

One I gained from following this recruiting saga is that I doubt anyone outside his family has more than a clue. If enough people guess someone is going to say I was right all along but I don't believe there is a lot of evidence in any direction to guess this young man's mind.

Since when do airlines hold you hostage, and make you go to Eugene even if you decided to not do that? Of course aOSU site is confident, they are the most arrogant fans around. Fact is JTT came to our spring game, not theirs. He has been to Eugene on multiple occasions. If he stays on the west coast, he’s a duck.
