I'm proud that Ty is making strides, but he isn't the guy, and Novosad probably isn't either. The two freshmen coming in aren't phenoms and so I think a transfer is the only real option. It'll be a tough market with Alabama and others potentially looking for a QB, as well. I'd hate to fall flat in our first Big Ten season, and the roster is really darn good outside of QB.

Maalik Murphy. Arch Manning is supposed to be the guy after Ewers at Texas, but Murphy looks like a beast. Would love to get him as a transfer.

I like it. One of the aspects we've been hoping for under DL is that we just keep stacking blue-chips on both sides of the ball and he's trying to set Oregon up as the premier west coast school for Defense.

Ive long defended the talent level of the Aliotti defenses and continue to think fans don't understand how good even non-NFL guys (Erick Dargan, Avery Patterson, et al) were, but what Lanning and Lupoi are accumulating on that side of the ball is unprecedented. I will continue to say that the QB for 2024 and 2025 worries the hell out of me, and there's work to do on OL, but Oregon is otherwise recruiting at a championship level.

I'm honestly not worried about qb. TT has everything needed to be a good quarterback, he just need to work on decision making. The little bit we've seen of him this year seems to show that he's making better choices

Unfortunately, decision making and seeing the field isn't an "only thing" sort of thing.

You probably have to have a top 5 QB to win a natty, and top 15 to win your conference. Thompson isn't either, unfortunately. He's almost certainly a step down from Shough, which will make duck fans want to can Lanning if he's our starter.

It's funny to revisit the thread from when we first learned Nix was transferring here: https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=38222. I think the upshot is that quarterback evaluation is hard and we won't know what we have until we see some sustained game action. And also that quarterback transfers can shake things up out of the blue.

Angulo and Wiltfong expecting Rushing to decommit from Arizona and join Oregon's class. Edit: He's decommitted now.

Yeah, getting a great transfer QB is going to be more important than any other move next year. I’m not so worried on the O-line, they are rotating in young guys in a lot, and they have held up well.

So now we land the top JC player at CB. Rushing sounds like he will be a duck. People are saying we retook the lead for 5* Breland. And we also lead for 4* Jericho Johnson. Our D will be nasty.

Also for QB, if you look at the stats for UTSA QB the year before Stein and this year without him, it’s crazy how bad he is without Stein. I think I’ll trust he can put a good QB on the field.

Add in Jason Brown on offense and if all of this happens, that's a great finish.
