No way. Ratings changed based on shorts and tshirt performance is as accurate as it gets.

While I see your point, and agree to some extent. You can’t ignore that guys like Mariota and Mariel didn’t move up the rankings or even get offers, until UO offered them and other teams saw them in shorts. And I can only imagine what the elite 11 and rankings would have thought, if Herbert cared to go to 7 v 7 and elite 11 camps.

Mariota sort of famously did not get a ratings bump or much higher interest from doing the circuit. The skinny future Heisman winner didn't make it out of the Elite 11 regionals.

Conversely, Travis Waller (Jonsen) and Morgan Mahalak were finalists.

247 composite had him 4* and #8 dual threat QB. I find it funny they don’t show a UW offered, but I know Marcus Tuiasosopo, and he was coaching at UW during that time and told me they offered him and thought they had him before he committed to UO.
