Who cares about recruiting, it's more fun to make fun of each other!

Dude is clearly "out to lunch" on the East Coast recruiting subject...but he might just show us if Boyd falls through!

Sorry, I'm sure what I stated what everyone else has said over and over but I'm not reading this thread all the way through its just too stupid of a statement!

thanks jhop. I am getting sick of the bickering. I understand differences of opinion but I feel like anytime someone in here feels like the Ducks made a mistake its three pages of how big of an idiot he is. I expressed my displeasure over the Wheaton deal and I got blasted for being mr. negative. I am consistantly defending the Ducks coaching staff and one time I feel like we dropped the ball and boy I got destroyed. I hope that we don't become a forum where anytime someone expresses dissapointment or frustration they get blown up. What makes a good forum is the passion that each one of us has. Please allow others to express their opinions and then feel free to debate them as much as you want........ But please enough with the personal attacks and name calling. I do believe we are all passionate fans of the greatest university in the country!! We are all on the same team. GO DUCKS!!

They're about to out-recruit us... i'm sooooo pissed about it. ASU sucks. We murder them every year, and their facilities aren't nearly as nice as Oregon's.
Notre Dame out recruits us every year too, but I would take the Ducks over them any day

Should outrecruiting mean that we dont get as many 4 and 5 stars as ND, Mich, tOSU, and others.
Or should outrecruiting be judged by the product on the field?
I tend to believe we outrecruit all but about 9 other schools last year based on the product on the field. Getting guys like Chung/TJ ward/Masoli, guys who are basically unheard of and turning that into quality product. Now that shows doing your homework with regards to recruiting. And proper execution in practice.
Just watch--Lavasier Tuinei is a 2* on rivals. I bet he doesn't play like one. ;)

I agree 100% with you jhop. Look where our program was 15 years ago and where it is today. We have come so far. We have great kids considering us every year now and as long as we continue to play good, exciting football we will just get better and better. It is so much fun being a Duck fan and I can't wait until we play for the NC in the next five years. I really believe that Chip will lead us to the promised land.........GO DUCKS!

Jasnwip - I totally agree with you. We've come a long way and have national recognition now more than five years ago. What a great season we have ahead. GO DUCKS '>

I remember U of O competing with Idaho, San Jose St & San Diage St for recruits. Funny thing is , so was USC.

How? Because I KNOW that distance from home is the #1 FACTOR for recruits when choosing a school (new SI article)... I'm not being arrogant, i'm saying we've been spending a lot of time out on the East Coast the last two years with not much to show for it. Meanwhile, ASU is about to steal a 5-Star Linebacker from USC, and is about to out-recruit us even though we've anninhilated them three straight years.

How well do you think Virginia Tech, Clemson, and Penn State would do recruiting out here on the West Coast?
All the SI article did was point out what a great job both Oregon and Oregon State have done going against the odds. Under your line of thinking, we should just recruit kids in state. After all, even Southern California is farther away from Oregon than say Florida is from Nebraska. So lets not even try for those kids. After all, we usually lose out on the SoCal 5 stars to USC, so lets just quit.

Your line of thinking followed to its conclusion would have us in the Big Sky in 5 years.

Damn you Jhop, I have been reading through all of this muck just to point out the fault in this quote, and just before I get to the last post you have to go and steel my thunder!

There is no way you can say we are being out recruited by ASU when you believe that we will defeat them next year! If we win than we recruited better it's that simple.

Also you spelled annihilated wrong. :ugeek:

(sorry just wanted to use that last smiley face!!)

I think you guys are oversimplifying a bit. It is possible to be outrecruited by teams that you beat. You guys are not giving enough credit to how good our coaches are. If our coaching staff had a roster full of talent like USC or ND has, then we would be that much better. Our recruiting has come a long ways in a relatively short period of time and it really looks like the sky is the limit.

Side note:

I am interested to see that Kingofducks is so confident about landing Boyd. That honestly gives me more hope than just about anything else that I have read. You have a pretty good track record so far. We'll find out soon enough.
