Re: 2018 Oregon Commit List
Balducci making an NFL roster as an offensive center still speaks to his quality as a football player. For a couple years, we had 2 1st rounders and a fringe-NFLer (Balducci) as our starters. Prior to that, they were backups to guys like Taylor Hart (NFL player), Wade Keliikipi (fringe NFL player), and Ricky Heimuli (fringe NFL player).
That's more talent than somewhere between 80-90% of college teams.

Re: 2018 Oregon Commit List
Well I don't think using Alabama as a defensive barometer for us makes any sense but since you brought it up, the 2012 roster had 4 DL drafted on the team and 3 of them were 1st rounders.Phalanx wrote:It is incredible, but I don't think he was talking about at the same time, since the time period he mentioned was 'the last 5 or 10 years'. Also, it isn't the max possible even for one year, since back-ups are also eligible for the NFL. Alabama sent five to the NFL from the 2012 Defensive line, for instance, even though they run a 3-4.StevensTechU wrote:At the same time? It's the maximum number possible. lol And that 2/3 were 1st round draft picks is incredible.GoDucksIn09 wrote:3 is not exactly a lot..

Not for a top 25 team. Colorado put 3-4 DL into the NFL just last year between drafted and free agent. I appreciate your generosity, but outside that one recruiting year of Armstead and Buckner, we've pretty much been a nightmare in relation to our standing as a national program.StevensTechU wrote:Balducci making an NFL roster as an offensive center still speaks to his quality as a football player. Re: 2018 Oregon Commit List
The only reason I brought up Alabama is to counter the point that 3 NFL players from the DL at the same time is the maximum number possible. To be honest, I'm not even sure our DL has been the biggest problem. The linebackers have been really bad for awhile now, and I'm not sure when the last one we sent to the NFL was...Kiko, maybe?Duck07 wrote:Well I don't think using Alabama as a defensive barometer for us makes any sense but since you brought it up, the 2012 roster had 4 DL drafted on the team and 3 of them were 1st rounders.Phalanx wrote:It is incredible, but I don't think he was talking about at the same time, since the time period he mentioned was 'the last 5 or 10 years'. Edit: I guess Joe Walker was the third to last pick in the 2016 draft. Before that, Kiko was the last one to be drafted.

Would love to see a more robust analysis than 1 team and 1 year, even if it's just focused on how Oregon stacks up against Pac-12 teams.ifuwant2 wrote:Not for a top 25 team. Re: 2018 Oregon Commit List
I'm not going to go check every team, but since 2006, more than a decade, Oregon has had 6 different DL on the first or second team All PAC team. That's 11 seasons. Defo, Reed, Hart, Rowe, Jordan, & Tukafu. Course we added a couple of teams to the conference in 2009.StevensTechU wrote:Would love to see a more robust analysis than 1 team and 1 year, even if it's just focused on how Oregon stacks up against Pac-12 teams.ifuwant2 wrote:Not for a top 25 team. With the addition of Battle, is there room for Waddle, Devon Wiliams, Isaah Crocker and Cota? That's a LOT of receivers.

I'm hearing we are going to fit 30 into this class. Probably because of early enrollment so they count towards last years class.greenyellow wrote:Isaiah Bolden continues hinting at a silent commit as it's widely expected they're taking a full 25-player class but there's only 15 known commitments.

Crockers spot is long gone, Cotas is in danger and Waddle and Williams are to talented to say no to ever.jimmy12 wrote:With the addition of Battle, is there room for Waddle, Devon Wiliams, Isaah Crocker and Cota? That's a LOT of receivers.

Wasn't Crocker at SNL? I like Crocker more than most. I think he's a good complement to what we have.buckmarkduck wrote:Crockers spot is long gone, Cotas is in danger and Waddle and Williams are to talented to say no to ever.jimmy12 wrote:With the addition of Battle, is there room for Waddle, Devon Wiliams, Isaah Crocker and Cota? Don't think they will turn Crocker away, he is a stud.Phenom wrote:Wasn't Crocker at SNL? I like Crocker more than most.
