Re: Signing Day Thread (Wednesday Feb 7)
I guess u could tell by his twitter page. He didnt put up any pics of his visit after he visted us. Also his tweet business move with a red jersey. Which really makes me wonder why he would give up a nfl potential qb and wide open depth chart for a question mark at qb at usc? I dont think he was one of willie’s guys and baffled why we couldnt close on him? Perhaps we should have scheduled his trip for this last week before signing day.

Terrible close by the staff. Between this ****show and the LV bowl IMO the jury is out on Mario.
I'm not confident he's the guy

Yeah, let's not give the guy a f'in chance or anything. The lack of context with this stuff is intriguing to me.Duckenstein wrote:Terrible close by the staff. Between this ****show and the LV bowl IMO the jury is out on Mario.

Can you really have any idea after one game? I bet people were venting like this after cos first game as coach. Still a very good class. Regardless of the misses

Re: Signing Day Thread (Wednesday Feb 7)
I know the coaches were tripping recruits to Eugene (not enough though) and traveling around the country, but it appears for naught as they'll only have 3 (maybe 4) guys to show for it. It's almost as if they gave on the 2018 class and said "Let's focus on 2019 instead."

My thoughts...
If I just looked at our commit list in a vacuum, with Sewell also seeming probable as a commit...I would be quite happy. I cannot condemn this staff and attribute the whiffs to their inabilities right now. Taggart upended EVERYTHING just a couple months ago. The fact that we have signed who we have, and that they seem incredibly committed to the program is awesome and something the staff can build upon. I do have high expectations for the next class and hope 2019 is STRONG. If we are having these conversations a year from now then there is definitely something wrong. Trying for some healthy perspective here and to not get too emotionally invested like some have seemed to be on this board.

Man, this board is going to go full Willie taking the FSU job here shortly. Today has sucked Chip Kelly sized balls the way it has gone but calling this strike two or making other sensational indictments on MC and co seems a bit dramatic.

So Oregon got swiped at the last-minute for DW. Oregon played the same role as Arizona did for us last year as talent scout and then farm team for poaching recruits:

I was really bummed on Sunday night when all the news started coming out about missing on everyone...probably mostly because I had listened to JHop blathering on about how everyone was coming to Oregon, so my hopes were irrationally high. I am pretty much over it now. If we get Sewell, it saves some face for the program, since USC is using us as a chew toy at the moment, and it makes for a great OL class. Any other year, we would be pretty ecstatic about two four-star receivers and a stud tight end. Heck, look at the safeties we got this time! This is a pretty good class when all is said and done. Now to see what this brand new coaching staff can do with them.

You are the most negative guy posting here and it's really not even close. Step back from the ledge. This is a good class, Considering everything with Taggart bolting, it's amazing they did this well.Duckenstein wrote:Terrible close by the staff. Okay, everyone needs to settle down. Watching this intramural squabble is depressing, but it's nothing compared to Jacob Copeland and his mom:

A UNLV insider is reporting/rumor
that his sources say JJ Tucker has received an offer from Oregon. If true, he should be on the commit list shortly. Wyoming was the other school waiting on Tucker. He did have a Utah offer earlier.

Sad that the only guy we can get is someone with barely any FBS offers. Not sure what the coaches were thinking by not having any other backup plans.

Oregon getting hosed again by recruits. This has been an ongoing theme for quite awhile. Oregon just not been able to close. This has been going on for a few years. On the bright side... our class did finish 15th in the nation. It is one of the best classes Oregon has ever signed. I don't know why Oregon can not close. There are so many variables and these are 18 yr old kids making a huge decision.
