Wow, that sucks I just read this whole post and had to listen to those two guys act like two little whining schoolgirls. Maybe they shouldn't follow recruiting, it appears to be too hard on their delicate psyche.

Distance is going to be a factor. The spread doesn't prepare you for the NFL. Basically Boyd will not be coming to Oregon is a good summary.

Next year all you doom mongers wont even remember the names of the players we "lost" this year.
Just like last year...
and the year before that...
and the year before that...
and the year before that...
And for those of you that "have been following recruiting for (insert number) years" well if you have been, then you should know better.
Some of this stuff is embarrassing to read. Just some ridiculous stuff.
This is SOOO true ^^^^^^^^
How many "stars" were Chung and Byrd again? What about Holland?

Every year the sky falls, most even more than one time a year, during the recruiting season. Blah.

So if we "lose Boyd" you're telling me that people won't even remember it next year? And the same thing with Wheaton? Sorry man, but I will remember.

Holland was 4 stars and an Army All-American.

I still haven't forgot Devin Ross, Terrence Austin, Chase Budinger(bball), etc...

Yeah cause during the end of the season when we were crushing the beevs & getting our tenth win over Okie St, we were all wishing we had those guys....
The point is, next year when we are top 5 & rolling teams, you won't be wishing we had some 3* WR.

Rose & Thistle, you wanna team up man?

I don't think I've ever agreed with someone on this board more than I agree with you. Great post.

:
2 players people lost their nuts on when we didn't get them... yet somehow... someway we keep winning games without Devin Ross.
Imagine that.
There are going to be close misses next year too, and the year after and the year after that and the year after that.
And there will be close gets next year and the year after and the year after that and the year after that.
We got 3 star Burrell on Wednesday and hardly anyone cared... We "lose" a 3 star and people are lighting themselves on fire.
The absolute panic that ensues after a miss is laughable when it's the same script EVERY SINGLE YEAR.
That's what I'm saying.

For the last time, it's not all about the stars. And the last time I checked. our defense sucks. We could have used all the top talent possible on defense the last few years.

Yes, how have we possibly managed to get along without Terrance Austin, and Devin Ross

That's exactly why everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax. We'll lose some recruiting battles and win some. But ultimately, all that matters is how we play on the field.
Although I must say, it really sucks when you think a guy is all ours and then chooses someone else. Losing in-state talent, above all else, is the most painful. I'm over it though.

Yes, all that matters is what happens on the field. At the same time, unless you have been going to National championships or bcs games recently, you can't help but wonder what a few top recruits rumored to be going to your school would have done for your program. The bottom line is that we can still do a better job in recruiting.
