When's the last time you walked around the campus at UCLA? If its been a while it may not up to the level you think it is these days.

Now moving beyond the girls, If I were 18, had grown up in Oregon my whole life and had a chance to go to USC or UCLA to play football I would definitely do it. I was never so mad at my father as when he retired from the Navy when we were living in So Cal and moved us to Grants Pass my junior year of HS. There went any shot of going to a CA school due to $$$ so I went to UO instead. I loved UO (and still do), but if I had the money I definitely would have gone to UCLA.
Literally last season , went to the UCLA v. UNLV game and went to the Oregon v. USC game. Sooooo
If you just went to the game you were 20 miles from Westwood. And I didn't mention USC. Much different there.

Really? Cause I don't see how anyone could think he's better than Harrison. That dude would be a 5* if he wasn't in Washington
Cota is the real deal. He's my top want too.
Saw Cota play tonight gainst West Linn. Certainly didn't look like any of his highlight films. I know it's only one game, but, West Linn's 2* WR Qawi Ntsasa was far better.
I saw Cade McNown get picked off five times in one game against Oregon City. He didn't look like a top prospect at all. The next season, he was the starting QB for UCLA and looked great. Clearly, OC could have beaten the Bruins.

Cota has yet to impress this year, but he's also coming of an injury and who knows how good his QB is.

Not sure if it's still bothering him, I believe he was dealing with a bad hamstring and hip at The Opening and then missed the SNL recruiting showcase because of it. I thought I also remember him dealing with a knee strain or back injury during the summer so he's dinged up for his SR season.

As for his recruitment, he's supposed to be visiting Notre Dame tonight for their game against Georgia.

Ugh, Notre Dame? Who in their right mind would want to play for Brian Kelly? Anyone see how disrespectful he was to the media in his post-game conference tonight?

Lenzy needs to talk some sense into him.

Nemec's latest recruiting show featured Chad and Chase Cota. He'll be taking officials to UCLA when they play Colorado on 9/30 and then to Alabama when they play Tennessee on 10/21. He likely won't take an official to Oregon since he's been around the program enough because of his dad and his cousin, Brady Breeze. He doesn't feel any pressure from Taggart or WR coach Mike Johnson to commit to Oregon soon. He said that he expects to sign in the early signing period so he can play in the US Army All-American Game and then enroll in school in early January.

After reading the Nemec piece related to gy's post just above (http://www.oregonlive.com/recruiting/in ... iver_index), while I have no prediction on where Chase ends up, I'm somewhat less pessimistic that he'll end up at a school other than Oregon (as the tenor of some of the posts in this thread have suggested).

Chad said that although he really wants Chase to go to Oregon, he thinks he has been leaning to SC ever since he visited down there. Apparently he loves the beach and surf. Thats according to some friends of mine who golfed with him.

I want him to come to Oregon mostly because of his dad. But if his dad was never a duck i would be happier with some of the other guys we are recruiting and have committed.

I graduated from OC and I find this logic impeccable. Go Pioneers! :)

Wasn't Brian Taroli the running back from OC that steamrolled Ashland's Jeremy Guthrie and Cy Aleman out of the playoffs?

I would prefere Waddle and Williams over Cota any day. Cota is Third on my wish list right now.

I would prefer if we land some of these legacy guys instead of seeing them play elsewhere.
