it does suck to loose out on legacy guys.karlhungis wrote:I would prefer if we land some of these legacy guys instead of seeing them play elsewhere.

I don't remember being sad about Markus Wheaton when he was playing.mdm0302 wrote:it does suck to loose out on legacy guys.karlhungis wrote:I would prefer if we land some of these legacy guys instead of seeing them play elsewhere.

I remember wishing he was ours. Great receiver and it made me bitter.Phenom wrote:I don't remember being sad about Markus Wheaton when he was playing.mdm0302 wrote:it does suck to loose out on legacy guys.karlhungis wrote:I would prefer if we land some of these legacy guys instead of seeing them play elsewhere.

Chase Cota top 7
Come on, man. He was Pac-12 Conference First Team selection. Third Team All-American in 2012 … third on OSU’s all-time receiving yards list with 2,994 … 91 receptions as a senior matches the single season school record. 11 100-yard-plus receiving games. 3,744 all-purpose yards; ninth at OSU.Phenom wrote:Great is a stretch.
And a solid NFL talent. Of course we wanted him. He would have likely been even better at Oregon.

Re: Chase Cota top 7
Wasn't implying Cota was not good. I said it was only one game. Implying that our receiver at West Linn, Qawi Ntsasa is totally underrated as a 2*. After 4 games he is the leading receiver in the state with 7 TDs and over 500+ yds. It will be interesting in 2 weeks when WL plays Tigard and Lenzy. Last year WL was loaded with talent and no one go to man. Probably why he is under the radar. This year he is the one. Have to see how he does now that he becomes the target of defenses.ncduck wrote:I saw Cade McNown get picked off five times in one game against Oregon City. He didn't look like a top prospect at all. The next season, he was the starting QB for UCLA and looked great. Clearly, OC could have beaten the Bruins.duck58 wrote:Saw Cota play tonight gainst West Linn. Certainly didn't look like any of his highlight films. I know it's only one game, but, West Linn's 2* WR Qawi Ntsasa was far better.UOducksTK1 wrote:Cota is the real deal. Really? Cause I don't see how anyone could think he's better than Harrison. That dude would be a 5* if he wasn't in Washington

I've seen Cota play, he's athletic, big etc but he has a hard time vs legit D1 corners in pads. I've told people he remeninds me of a guy I went against in HS, Cy Alman. Except Cota hasn't manged to post near as good of stats.

Cy Aleman also played with Jeremy Guthrie and Erik Nagel at QB, both first team all-SOC in a passing system ahead of its time for the HS level.
What school did you play at? I probably saw you play. I went to every Ashland home game Cy ever played in and every Ashland game, road and away, during Cy's senior season.

I was at SM. Nagel was one of my favorite coaches, while SM always had the athlete Walker (rip) and Singler just can't get it together.

Oregon is probably the only state I know of that consistently downplays the players and teams of its state. I really don't get it.

I really think that it was an excuse by earlier coaching staffs as an excuse, why they couldn’t compete years ago. The level of play has gotten much better in the last decade though.StevensTechU wrote:Oregon is probably the only state I know of that consistently downplays the players and teams of its state. Not downplaying players. Just saying what I've observed. I'm a huge Lenzy fan at the moment. All ratings have Cota high. I've seen him once and he wasn't that impressive. I hope we get him and enough other good WRs that they force Lenzy to defense. A defensive backfield with Graham, Lenoir, and Lenzy in 2-3 years would amazing.StevensTechU wrote:Oregon is probably the only state I know of that consistently downplays the players and teams of its state. Do you know how bad Lenzy's injury is?duck58 wrote:Not downplaying players. Just saying what I've observed. I'm a huge Lenzy fan at the moment. All ratings have Cota high. Partially torn MCL. No surgery required so out only 3-4 weeks.Phenom wrote:Do you know how bad Lenzy's injury is?duck58 wrote:Not downplaying players. Just saying what I've observed.
