OK one team won without a true PG, doesn’t mean you can discount the value a true PG has meant historically in college basketball. Granted we are in a new era of college sports where you can just tamper and buy the best talent so it might not be as important going forward.

With Goodman in and Bittle not a sure thing to return, Oregon has to still be looking at a starting center in the portal.
Maybe I'm naive, but I don't see any way that Bittle gets drafted. He just lacks the athleticism necessary in the NBA.
I;m with you, his athleticism is a drawback here, despite the blocked shots, other teams feasted at the rim against the Ducks, and of course few centers do, but Jokic can shoot the 3, Bittle can't.
Bittle shot 33.6% from 3

Oregon going after GCU F JaKobe Coles. Would be nice if they targeted some better shooters.

Closer than I thought, Jokic is 35.9 for his career.

Probably don't got the $$ for this one. But he was pretty interested in Oregon out of HS. Hopefully that connection could land him.

Indiana F Mackenzie Mgbako might visit this weekend. That would be fantastic. Up against Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Kentucky, and others.

Nevermind, he committed to A&M.

Oregon has contacted Southern Indiana SG Jayland Randall. Might just be a backup plan in case Sarr doesn't come to Eugene.

The longer Sarr doesn’t pick us, the worse it sits for us.
Kansas and possibly UNC entering the picture for him. We surely cannot compete with their budgets.

Oregon lost out on French C Paul Mbiya, who committed to NC State. Have to think they need to find another post player to play behind Bittle and Evans as Miles Goodman likely won't be a major contributor.

Surprised we lost out on him.. but yes need a serviceable backup like supreme, cuz I think Goodman is a good step down.

What roster is looking like after landing Stewart.
PG: Jackson Shelstad
SG: Jamari Phillips, JJ Frakes, TK Simpkins
SF: Dez Lindsay, Oleksandr Kobzystyi, Devon Pryor
PF: Kwame Evans, Sean Stewart
C: Nate Bittle , Miles Goodman
I still think we need another ball handler, even if he only plays 5-10 minutes a game. And we still need a 3rd scorer. Someone at SG/SF. Maybe coaches are banking on TK Simpkins or someone else to be that guy?

With Sean Stewart's addition and Bittle likely returning after not getting an NBA Combine invite, Oregon is probably one to two players away from having their full roster. They'll likely look to add another SG and/or SF next.

This team is still paper thin in the backcourt. They need a starting caliber 2, a starting caliber 3, and someone else that can play the point, whether it’s a combo guard or a straight backup PG.
Phillips looks pretty raw at this point, and Simpkins looks like an end of the bench guy to me. Who knows what Frakes and Lindsay will be. I have high hopes for both, but they’re both pretty big question marks at this point.
It looks to me like this team pretty much needs Sarr (less and less likely the longer this plays out imo) and another ball handler that can shoot efficiently in the backcourt to be dangerous this year. And that’s assuming that Bittle comes back.
Long way to go.
