Hugh Freeze just got canned at Auburn. Guess winning is hard when everyone else can (legally) pay players now too.

Shoot, they might as well just pay a top HS coach in the state and let all the recruits know it means they're spending the money on them instead.

Didn’t expect Nebraska to be happy with mediocre results

Luke Fickell will stay at Wisconsin through 2026, per the AD and Chancellor. They're saying that elevating their NIL spend is the primary focus.

It sounds like a worse version of where Florida was last year, where they weigh whether the buyout amount would be better spent on getting players out of the portal. We'll see how it works out for them.

Sounds like Luke Fickell is safe for at least another season. Crazy to see coaches that likely would've gone 8-4 this year getting fired but a guy that is likely going either 2-10 or 3-9 this year keeping his job. He's either beloved by the Wisconsin boosters or they are hurting for $$$.

Not the craziest idea, it definitely has a certain moneyball appeal to it.

I find this hilarious. Brian Kelly is telling LSU "No, I don't want $25M, and I don't want $30M. I want the full $54M you owe me." I actively root for Southeastern Conference financial strain so I hope it ends up being $54M plus ungodly legal fees.

I honestly don't know who I want to win that legal battle. I mean screw the SEC, but Brian Kelly is also a PoS. Is there a way they can both lose?

Yes, there is a way they both lose, and it happens hourly. I hope they both went out and got the best lawyers they could find....

True, but that's still not enough.

A name that hasn't been mentioned as a potential candidate for some of these open jobs is Dam Mullen at UNLV. He's currently sitting at 8-2 on the year.

He didn't do great at Florida, but he did at Mississippi State, coaching Dak Prescott to good success. He has a lot of SEC experience.

I think he'd be a good candidate at Arkansas or maybe Vanderbilt, if Clark Lea jumps to a better job.

I'll be curious how AD's evaluate Mullen's record this year at UNLV since he took over a program that went 11-3 last year (and 2 of the losses last year were against Boise St.)

Virginia Tech has been hired by Virginia Tech.

Also looks like Lane Kiffin is in Baton Rouge right now, possibly negotiating or trying to get more out of Ole Miss.

I've never understood the rush to get back into coaching after being fired when you're gonna collect $49 million to do nothing for a couple of years.
