Exactly correct...Pudge, why exactly were you laughing again? Damn, give the guy an opp....You are laughing at the prospect that he might only recruit a 4* once every few years? There is an old saying...he who laughs last.......I think I would suggest you hold your laughter until Altman proves or disproves his worth...IMO, laughing at anything prior to that point is absurd....

It may be entertaining to watch some of the current players busting their cheeks to earn PT.

Altman seems as if he may be a quiet taskmaster.

If Loyd does come to Oregon, I see no reason why he couldn't get some playing time right away. Sim hasn't exactly done much, and Armstead needs someone behind him.

Sim has done nothing in college. If he wasn't an Oregon kid, his scholarship would likely not be renewed this year...

Wherever Loyd ends up, they'll be getting a high character kid who is an excellent player and student. Definitely the type of guy that is easy to root for.

the problem with the current players is we havent seen them
run a real offense. If tp dribbling down the shot clock and
throwing up a wild three or driving and getting rejected is an
offense then i stand corrected. I liked tp thought he was a good
spot up shooter like when brooks was here.
I think Sim has some talent, i really think the ducks have decent
talent and just need to be coached up. T Williams has a world of talent.
Wilson is gonna be a great one. Dunnigan has alot of Potential. Jacob is
a battler and shows good inside game. They are set at point guard but
need another. Singlar, who wouldnt want a whole team like him. The cubburd
isnt bare. Will they win the league? Dont think so, will they be competitive?
yea i think they will. Add a couple of players this year to give themselves
depth they might be alright. What Altman preaches is team work. His high
post offense is a pretty good offense when run right. Very tough to defend.
Let's hope they work hard this summer and comback refreshed and ready
to start a new chapter.

Totally agreed. You can't make a judgement on these players until they've under som real coaching & in a real offense. Obviously Sim isn't an NBA guard, not even close, but he could be a really solid guard in the right offense IMO.

Kent basically stopped recruiting since he sort of knew he was a goner. The assistants who were kept after Kent were fired didn't have any official visitors since the new coach may not have wanted any of the recruits they had gotten.

I was being sarcastic, I guess.

I posted a similar comment about the lack of effort by the outgoing crew and got called out for not posting links to back up the statement.

I am not going to backtrack every article I have read over the last month to satisfy somebody else's sour grapes.

I just think it's a little classless to bag on the guy about something like that especially after he's been gone for a couple months now.

I mean I know we all love our ducks, but put yourself in his situation, you know you're a wrap as a coach, the entire program knows, you honestly are going to tell me that you're still going to go out and recruit? Absolutely not. No outgoing coach has ever done that no matter how much they love their respective University.

Altman is definitely off to a good start.

If Ernie loved Oregon as much as he says he does, he would still be recruiting for Oregon.

Seriously, besides saying how great Oregon is what could he say? "No, I don't know who your coach will be, I don't know who the assistants will be, I don't know what style of offense he runs, I don't know what type of defense he likes, I assume he will stress academics, no idea about his personality, but hey, come to Eugene. I'm sure you will be happy."

About all Ernie and his staff could do was keep in touch with prospects, which it appears they did.
