I'll miss Teondre, but do trust that Altman will get guys that fit his system better. At least the new guys in the program will get more playing time.

I liked Teondre as a stand still three point shooter, and once every five games he'd throw down a sweet dunk off a rebound. Never got the love some had for him, always came off as back-up QB syndrome to me.

Seiferth was the worst basketball player to ever play here.

Seiferth definitely not a surprise, and I guess neither is Williams. If I had to choose someone other than Sieferth, who I thought would leave Teondre would have been the guy. Too bad, he seemed like a great guy but never could quite harness his athleticism. I think thats what fans like about him, the dunks made him stand out & gave people glimpses of what they hoped he could do consistently.

So that opens some things up. Sorry to see Williams go. But he never could
play defense and his game came in spurts. But i really liked him. Hope he does
well where ever he goes..

Production and Consistency , or the lack thereof, are killers, especially when coupled with a lack of significant improvement.

Does Oregon pursue replacements at this late stage, or sit on the schollies for next season?

There was mention, earlier, of a possible 6'7" Forward transfer from Louisiana Tech, in the vein of the Jay-R Strowbridge situation... Already graduated, and only one season of eligibility left. LouTech has a new coach, and they are parting ways.

"Olu, who has already earned his bachelor’s degree, has one year of college eligibility remaining after red-shirting his true freshman year at Louisiana Tech and is currently talking to Oregon and San Diego State. The 6-foot-7-inch forward earned WAC All-Defensive team honors as a junior after averaging 14.2 points and 9.4 rebounds per contest."

I think they make a push for him now since there's room and the team will be somewhat shorthanded if Altman doesn't go after him. If they get Olu, I still think next year's class is still going to be quite large as I don't think Altman wants to load up this incoming freshman class and mess up the scholarship balance.

To be fare... It's pretty hard to be consistent when you're played sparingly and out of position.

Obviously this is best for both parties.... and further speeds up the transition to Altman's players.

Obviously Teondre isn't a huge loss, but he did provide depth. He was the best athlete on the team and one of the better shooters. I always felt that he should have gotten more playing time, but he clearly didn't fit Altman's system. While Teondre wasn't likely to get more than 15 minutes per game, he was a "veteran". I'd love to see Teondre play on an uptempo team like Memphis.

However, picking up Olu Ashaolu would be huge. Ashaolu would give this team a real inside presence (particularly on the defensive end).

Martin S was a waste of a scholarship. Glad that Altman ended that experiment early.
“If everybody in this room just want to be real with themselves, this game could have went either way,” he said. “We turned the ball over a lot. We beat ourself. Just be real with yourself right now. We beat ourself.”

While I believe this transfer news is true, has any media outlet confirmed that this is indeed happening?

Well that certainly explains the reason we have so many players coming in. I think we will be just fine without these two players. Best of luck to them though.

I haven't seen anything except here about these two leaving. I'm not saying it's not true, but it would be nice to see something official.

Also I really hope we manage to get Olu, it would be sweet to have Nared, Emory, Jacobs and him next year. We would still be a little undersized but athletic as can be.

I got it from Mops. I've yet to see it anywhere official, either, but I tend to trust the Mopster.

And, throw me into the Olu camp as well. I'd love to bring him aboard.

Makes sense he would have that kind of info.

I have not reported it being Williams or Martin.
