RT @BryanDFischer Looks like Boise State is accused of violations in men’s tennis, football, m/w’s track, major violation in women’s tennis.

Doesn't sound like anything major but usually when there are lots of small ones, there's bound to be some bigger ones that haven't been reported yet.

All the allegations coming together have resulted in the dreaded "Lack of Institutional Control" though. That's what interest me.

I would love to bust the Broncs as much as anyone, but what a joke. $5,000 and recruits sleeping on floors? Yet as someone mentioned on Twitter, it's OK to shop around your son if money doesn't change? I think the NCAA needs to take a long look at their priorities.
The major tennis violation isn't good (of course) but not sure I care a whole lot about the rest.

Lack of institutional control... Really?
Is this what happens when the NCAA needs to deflect attention from tOSU?

They needed to show that they can be tough on the smaller schools as well.woundedknees wrote:Lack of institutional control... Really?

No, but they needed to show they could at least be tough on someone.karlhungis wrote:Have they been tough on the larger schools?greenyellow wrote:They needed to show that they can be tough on the smaller schools as well.woundedknees wrote:Lack of institutional control... Really?

Frankly it seems a load of Horse Cr*p! The nickle and dime stuff was oversight and would of/will be corrected. This is what is being cited as the case for LOIC.
As to the tennis stuff, that is a clear violation!! I have no problem with them being penalized for it. And yes I know it is Boise, but I do not have a problem with Boise, just a large % of it's fanbase!

The local talk-show guy in Boise said it best: "These infractions are like petty parking tickets, they are no big deal, but after 65 of them, it becomes a problem". The REAL issue is that BSU is now on watch as a school who wasn't in "control" of its program. They now have a shorter leash and if they slip up, lack of institutional control comes to the forefront.

Ya that is very well put. At first glance this is almost laughable but they just have to make sure that they dot their I's and cross their T's. ..........I think mainly this was just Joe Schaad making a big story on College Football Live of something that isn't really that big of a dealUofDuck wrote:The local talk-show guy in Boise said it best: "These infractions are like petty parking tickets, they are no big deal, but after 65 of them, it becomes a problem". Re: Bronc Busting, anyone?
I see they released the info on their self-imposed penalties and are giving up 3 football scholarships each of the next two years. Sounds like it's a bigger deal then I originally thought. I know they are just trying to get ahead of potential NCAA penalties but 3 schollies a year isn't a little tough for letting recruits crash on a couch before they enroll in school.
