Charles Robinson has something bigger than tOSU

ESPN's Chicago radio program Waddle & Silvy had Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson on the show Wednesday morning, and after some talk of the Jim Tressel investigation, an accidental bombshell was dropped: The hosts asked what else Robinson was working on, and he hinted at two more stories coming down the pike, one of which he characterized as an even bigger scandal than the Ohio State story. Teams, institutions, and even conferences go unnamed, but read our hasty transcript and decide for yourselves: Should your team be worried?

ESPN:
So is there another team, another organization, another sport that should be nervous right now because you're working on something comparable?
Robinson: Yeah [laughs], we've still got a couple more coming.

[several moments of back-and-forth banter]

Robinson: I've got probably a six to a seven, maybe an eight depending on where you live coming in the next two weeks, and then by August, a ten.
ESPN: Well, what would you consider the Tressel story, on a one to ten?
Robinson: Probably an eight.
ESPN: So there's something even bigger than that coming in the summertime?
Robinson: Yeah. Yeah. There's one I've been working on since, I don't know, I'm probably entering my fourth month on it, and we'll probably get a good six, seven months in on it before I'm done.

So that's what we have to go on. Auburn fans, time to partner up with an alum from a lesser conference and teach them how to properly track a plane. Who's getting thrust in the spotlight this month, and who's in big trouble this summer? Your best guesses in the comments.
SB Nation

Anyone want to take bets on who it is?

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if it was us.

I hope not. I'll reserve judgement and trust Chip, we can't really do anything other than that at this point.

Deep-down, I'm hoping it is Texas.

Will Lyles is secretly a super deep cover agent for the NCAA?

I shivered when I read that.

One of those stories is gonna be about us for sure and I assume another about Auburn. On a hunch, the last I'm gonna say Tennessee. Not sure why I think that but you have to consider the NCAA hates them for Kiffin so maybe they're saying "payback is a b***h!!!"

Yeah I'm with you, might just be me becoming pessimistic, but everytime I hear about these things I assume it will be about us. The low hanging fruit. We've already drawn the scrutiny of the media, makes things easier for them.

Makes me a little worried for our sake but I would suspect may a Big 12 or SEC school being dinged.

This is the reason I worry about the Ducks being heavily involved in a guy like Will Lyles. Unsubstantiated reports of questionable character and a new business. A guy like that might go "above and beyond" to please his first large client.

Then again, the original question included "another sport". Wonder what John Calipari has been doing lately?

But at least in the case with Lyles, there are other schools associated with him so we wouldn't be the only ones to get damaged.

We are the only school that paid him 25K though.

No we are the only school who has their financial records made public. Other schools don't have to give their $ amount up so some could have paid more

Lyles himself said he made $36K last year. $25K from us, $6K from LSU, and $5K from Cal (might have LSU and Cal numbers switched). So I feel like if there were more schools paying him he would have said so.

Made and sold his services for are two very different things. He didn't make $25k off UO.

Ok whatever, the semantics over "paid" and "made" are ridiculous to this conversation specifically. The point was being made that because of our open records requirement we're just the only school that the public is aware of paying Lyles $25K; I was saying that is incorrect. He was "paid" $25K by the UO and we were the only such school to "pay" him that much, according to the man himself. However much he actually grossed I don't really care, I want to know what schools were paying Lyles and how much. I apologize with my laziness with the concepts of "grossed" vs. "sold," though in fairness I was using the same verbage as Lyles during the Whitlock interview.
