USC also has two early enrollee spots which they can technically take advantage of next spring and those scholarships would count for the Class of 2011.

Wow, so that monster class of 2011 was still smaller than it could have been?

Yeah, but what these guys are trying to dance around is the inevitability that the huge 2011 class is going to come back and bite them eventually in regard to the 75 player cap. Two years down the road they'll have a massive junior & redshirt Soph class without the ability to bring in much depth without pushing people out the door. These scholi limitations come at a tough time for them; while they're trying to stem the bleeding caused by UO and SU's rise already, now they can only take about half the kids they would like.

I understand all of that. I still think that 17 schollies is pretty decent considering the haul that they made last year and the punishment that they are facing.
