Xavier Grimble, from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, is one of the top tight ends on the west coast for 2010. Sporting offers from coast to coast, Grimble tells eDuck Sports that, despite not holding an official offer from Oregon, the Ducks are under heavy consideration for the talented "Sin City" star.

He may like the ducks, but I consider him somewhat of a longshot. If this was a year where we needed a TE, I would have liked our chances more. But we are pretty stacked at TE as it is.

You gotta love the look of this guy but I have to agree with TK we are loaded and in the end he will realize that and choose another school...

We lose Ed Dickson after this year and Malichi Lewis the year after that. That just leaves Jordan if he is moved to TE and Rivera with an incoming freshman in White. I do agree he is a long shot though and I do think we can wait for Lewis to depart before you need to go after another TE with the lack of scholarships for the 2010 class.

I think we will also have Na'Derris Ward after Dickson and Lewis leave, or am I wrong on that one?

This year, Dickson is a senior, Malachi and Ward are juniors. We will be fine after they leave though, Paulson is a soph, Rivera and Jordan are both Frosh, and we have Curtis White in the 2010 class.

this kids' video is AMAZING. Our depth chart will definitely hurt us and from what I hear currently he is really giving Oklahoma serious consideration. Guess we'll see. Fortunately this is a want for us not a need.

Xavier has already visited Oregon (last year during a game) and he said in a rivals article that he is going to come to the Oregon camp in June.

The school Grimble goes to has sent a few guys to Oklahoma currently and compounded with the fact we are very heavy with TEs and the lack of offers this season i dont think we will be a major player in his recruitment unless we swing and miss big time.

If Grimble were to choose the Ducks, the Oregon coaches would always have the option of giving Curtis White a closer look at defensive end rather than tight end, so they do have a bit of wiggle room.

You hit the nail on the head. White can be brought in as an Athlete, and then see which side of the ball fits him better.
