Inglewood High School defensive tackle, Marcus Howard, looks to be an athlete who provides terrific versatility along the defensive line. The native from Inglewood, California claims an early offer from the Ducks and eDuck Sports sat down with Howard recently to gauge his overall interest in Oregon.

Ducks are leading, but I guess that is not surprising since they are his only offer thus far. Still, it sounds like he likes the Ducks quite a bit.

A 6'0" DE?

This offer is a bit of a head scratcher this early in the 2010 class. 6'0 is extremely short for a DE, he must look real good on film to have an Oregon offer this early in the process.

Howard said in the article that he is being recruited as a defensive tackle. I agree though, it is a bit surprising he reports an Oregon offer this early. The coaches must view him similar to Justin Brown from this past recruiting class. Both are undersized defensive tackles that will need to be bulked up.

Here is a link to Howard's YouTube highlights, showing him playing tight end and defensive tackle. It starts out with him playing in the 10th grade, then 11th grade highlights. Offense highlights are in the first half of the video, then defensive highlights in the second half. His defensive highlights look ok, although nothing overly spectacular.
