"The Sporting News is reporting that a "high-ranking SEC" source says the report of Texas A&M accepting an invitation to the SEC is "just not true." So there goes that. For now. Prepare yourselves for a new report on Friday saying that A&M is going to the SEC."

Historically speaking, Aggies and LSU had a BIG rivalry. I’m only old enough to remember the end of the rivalry, but I personally would love to have them in the SEC.

I hate to say it but I think they are done for…question…if they lose all their big teams do they lose their status as a BCS conference? If so, does another conference get promoted?

Looks like Texas A&M board of regions is having an emergency meeting on Monday to talk about this…this was scheduled after the state higher education board scheduled a emergency meeting about it for Tuesday. SEC officials are meeting this weekend. Looks like the timeline just got accelerated. I bet $100 it is going to happen, and to be honest with you…I’m very happy about it.

Not really...just that everybody seems certain that it will happen. I would assume that it would be for 2012, but I guess it depends on how long it takes to find other teams to add on...I will keep y'all posted as I hear new stuff.

For a team to add to the Big 12, I'd have suggested TCU had they not already jumped to the Big East, but I could possibly see someone like Houston get a call.

They will be looking for a team on the east coast if they are just adding one more....I'm willing to bet you that the other team will be VT or Clemson.
ETA: My bad man....I REALLY should not post will drinking, I thought you were talking about the SEC....yes if this is indeed a done deal as it appears through my SEC tinted glasses, Houston is going to get a call from the Big 12. The question is what happens if OU jumps ship?

Are you asking if I was referring to Fla St when I typed FSU...if so the answer is yes.
There has been chatter about them all day. Would be a good fit too since they already play Florida every year. They are not my top choice though

Yeah.... I guess I glossed over that part and was a bit surprised when I saw it on ESPN.... My wife would use that as evidence that I don't "pay attention"....

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Sounds like they want to do it but also want to make Beebe and others feel like they gave them a fair voice in opposition.
This says that the A&M talk is true but that FSU is claiming 'rumor' at this point:
