Can we restart the Pac-12 expansion discussion?

Although there are a lot of factors that have yet to play out (whether TAMU gets invited to the SEC, whether BYU accepts and invitation to Big-IX, whether Missouri gets out, etc), it seems as if things are being set in motion that would lead towards expansion once again.
Browsing through OU/OSU message boards, it seems as if a majority of fans from both schools really want to join the Pac-12. I think it's pretty cool, and it would work perfectly if the NCAA ruled that the LHN was improper leading UT/TT to resolve to joining as well.

Nah I think at this point Texas would rather be an independent than move to the Pac. They're not going to be interested in revenue sharing. Realistically the OK schools are ours if we want them and then most assume we would add two more but I'm not sure.....Kansas, Tex tech, Baylor, K-State..any MWC or WAC school would all love to join but none of them really seem like big sells. Maybe Kansas cause of their basketball team?

I would love for TAMU to join the pac. I don't know why they're set on joining the SEC

I hate Texas with the intensity of 1000 burning suns.

I'm surprised that some of the other Big12 schools don't seem to see the writing on the wall.
Once the Big12 inevitably disintigrates, some of the universities will get a royal screwing and end up unaffiliated or worse the MWC.
If I were a Big12 university president, I would be seriously looking around for other conference options. My motto would be, "Let's not be left holding the bag."

I'm kind of against going to 16 teams right now because it just seems unwieldy and really takes any sense of having a cohesive conference away. There just wouldn't seem to be any type of connection with the new Big 12 schools due to them being so far away, knowing where they came from, and why their previous conference possibly imploded.

Gotta keep up with the Jones'. I like going to 16 first and letting the other conferences try to catch with us for once.

Just reported on 1080the Fan that OU is expected to ask for an invite to the PAC12 over the next couple days...
I think this is great for our conference (and who else TT, UT, OSU...?) but my God how often will we play these teams in a supposed 16 team conference? But on the flip side, I love how it starts to push the idea of a real playoff system!
We just have to wait and see what happens next I guess.

If we were to add OU, OSU, TT, and UT we would probably go to an east/west alignment and go back to the original Pac 8. We would play each team in our division and two from the other division-so we would play them once every 4 years.

Where OU goes, so goes OSU.

Can we just take Oklahoma, Oklahoma St. and Texas A&M if they want in? The Big Ten has had an odd number of schools for years and they made it work.
I really don't want Kansas, Baylor, Kansas State or even Texas Tech just so we can have "16".

Those that believe Texas wants to go independent are wrong. Texas's administration is actually very concerned with losing all of their natural rivals, and will likely follow in Oklahoma's footsteps if and when Oklahoma asks/receives an invite.
Texas also won't have as much leverage this time around.

In that scenario, if we were just taking someone to reach 16, then I want Hawaii.

Yeah, with some trimming, the LHN could be rolled into the PAC network becoming one of the regional networks.
