Texas already has 19 commits for 2010 and ALL of them are from Texas. A far cry from Oregon which puts out 4-5 D1 prospects per year.

I have the 2005 National Championship on DVD & at the beggining of the game they show the starting line-ups for both teams & all but 2 of Texas' starters were from Texas.....that's not fair.

We kick their a$$es at ultimate frisbee though!

Idk, I think there are a lot of diamonds in the rough in Oregon, especially at Jesuit. There are kids there who aren't the most talented, but they work hard 24/7. You can teach football, but you can't teach work ethic. I think the potential is there, we just need to look a little harder for it.

I'd disagree. A kid can want it as bad as can be and can spend hours upon hours in the weight room but he simply wont reach the level.

There is only one kid at Jesuit that is on Oregon's level and thats Lowe. Wok is on OSU, UW, and BSU's level but not Oregon.

And I'm not saying there are 19 D1 prospects in Oregon, I'm sayin there are a few more sick athletes out there who would love the chance to play for a program like Oregon if they got the chance. Who do you mean by Wok? Do you mean Wark?

Jacob Wark, yes typo. Hes the only D1 guy at Jesuit not named Lowe. I agree there maybe a few more guys in state we could land if we wanted to.

In 2010 I'd be fine taking this crop: DE Owa, TE Curtis White, LB Kelvin Cain, WR Keanon Lowe, and maybe ATH Anthony LaCoste.

That's true, but for every "diamond in the rough" that's here in Oregon, there's probably 10 in Texas. Football is their LIVES. I have heard that here is a big difference between Oregon and California recruits though (and I'm not trying to play into stereotypes here). It's almost like the difference between men and womens basketball. California players can rely on their fantastic athleticism, and this think that's all they really need. Oregon players, in general, don't have quite the same athleticism, so they are much more coachable and work hard on basics and technique.

There is a reason some HS football coaches in Texas and Oklahoma have 6 figure incomes...
