Yikes, 24 yards rushing on 23 attempts. It may be a very long year on Corvallis.

I thought they were gonna be bad and I didn't understand all the people who were being so optomistic about their chances. They appear to be worse than most people considered. Maybe getting James Rogers back will give them a boost, but which QB is gonna be throwing to him (if he actually gets back to 100%). I kept hearing that Katz was stepping up and was gonna be a stud and now the guy is getting replaced by a redshirt freshman.

I knew Quizz was their team, but damn. I didn't realize how bad they would be without him!

How much does Riley miss Serna, now?

The Beavers have turned things around under Riley after slow starts too many times for me to completely dismiss them. But I agree they look pretty bad right now and will be (a little) surprised if they can become bowl eligible this year.

They are going to have to go 6-3 in conference play to be bowl eligible (remaining non-conference game against BYU I'm already considering a loss) and I just don't see that many Pac-12 schools they'll be able to beat.

The Beavers have a bye week, should be getting a few of their injured players back and then will be at home facing a UCLA team coming off a game against Texas. If the Beavers lose that game, the slim odds of them becoming bowl eligible become nearly nonexistent.

You gotta hand it to Mike Riley. Despite the obvious disadvantages that OSU has in resources and recruiting he usually puts together a solid football team.

This is still September. Riley is probably still doing his playing possum so no PAC12 will take them seriously until it is too late and they're in position to come in second in conference.

So shouldn't they change the mascot then to match this behavior.
