I think it just needs to be said. Put in 14 years of hard work that made our program a million times better, and he did it with class. Passed on offers from several other schools to stay in Eugene. He's gotta go down as the best coach in Oregon history. Chances are he'll never see any of our messages of appreciation, but I think we're all really grateful we got to watch him coach our team for 14 great years.

my sentiments exactly tray our program is where it is today because of what MB has done and we are proud of what he has accomplished and he did it the right way.

he is a great coach and teacher of young men. The u of O was blessed to have him

rename the field!

We can't have our field named after a guy who is still coaching elsewhere.

It is with a lump in my throat that posting.php?mode=reply&f=5&t=1126#I extend many thanks to Coach Bellotti. I love CK, and know he'll be exceptional, but it was under Bellotti that the program turned the corner. I have loved the last decade of Duck football...many many good memories.

Looking forward to the next decade and the CK era...

I can already feel the tears that are gonna fall this first home saturday of football this fall.

For me, he's been the coach for most of the time that I've followed Oregon football. In my eyes, whoever follows him will have big shoes to fill. I do think that Kelly will be a good fit for the program and will continue Bellotti's work. The only question I have about Kelly is how long he actually stays at Oregon as head coach. Kelly seems like a very loyal guy but you don't know how he would react if he was offered a coaching job at one of the elite programs.

He has a head coaching job at an elite program. On top of that the guy that hand picked him to take the reigns will be the one negotiating his contract. IMO Kelly will be here for the long haul just like MB was

Sorry, but we're not an elite program. We haven't been to a BCS game since 2001, haven't gotten to the Rose Bowl in 15 years, and have never even gotten to a national championship game. We're a very good program and could soon become an elite one, but don't fool yourself - we aren't there yet. And very few non-Duck fans would disagree with me.

I think it's entirely possible (not probable, just possible) CK takes a job at an elite program (tOSU, USC, UF, LSU, UM if they get better, etc.), but that would take several amazing years at Oregon and an actual opening at an elite program. I doubt he'll leave for anything less, because he said just today that he doesn't want to go to a team that's rebuilding.
