Rob Mosely of the RG is reporting Gaines is In.

EDIT: Sounds like a source of mine got this from Rob's blog I am thinking so I am changing my tune.

That would be great news for the Ducks as they start to transition into the Kelly era. Seems like Rob Moseley's blog has confirmed this as well (http://blogs.registerguard.com/cms/inde ... to-oregon/). Will he be able to make it in time for spring practices?

Rob Moseley doesnt get down with speculation. I think if he says that Gaines has sent his LOI I believe him. He doesnt throw rumors out. If he's wrong, I will lose my mind.

i was thinking that gaines could pull and ocho sinco and leave after one year if he has a good year. i was wwondering if anyone else was thinking this

I always have that in the back of my head with the high profile JC guys.

Let's make sure he is 100% in first. Second, I wouldn't worry yet about him leaving. He would have to have a spectacular season, and even then it's not a given.

The thing is, Gaines' desire to sign with Oregon has never been the issue. Thus, this isn't anything to get terribly excited about.

Moseley reported back on 2/17/09 that "a source at Butler Community College in Kansas says receiver Tyrece Gaines completed paperwork today that would make him a Duck." He then gives this latest update, nearly a month later, saying Gaines has signed his LOI. Ummm, ok? Does that mean Gaines is going to be accepted at the University of Oregon and eligible to take the field for the Ducks next season or not? A lot of players that have never ended up seeing the field at Oregon have sent the Ducks a LOI.

I am still waiting for the University of Oregon to officially announce that they have received Gaines' LOI and for some sort of indication that he has passed all of the hurdles in order for him to take the field for the Ducks next season. Hopefully this happens in the near future.

I agree with you 100% Vinny. Its clear that Gaines wants to be a Duck. Its just a matter of him clearing those hurtles. From what I have learned about Rob Moseley is that he doesnt just throw things out there. When he has facts he reports them and I am really hoping that this is all taken care of and Gaines' LOI is announced on Saturday so we can put this to rest.

I would much rather hear of him signing a LOI with us, even if he isn't admitted yet. As long as he isn't signing the LOI for another school, I will remain hopeful.
