BSU, AFA, NA Offered Big East Membership(Update:SMU+HOU too)

In response to the defections of late, the big east is planning on inviting Boise St, Air Force and Naval Academies to join as Football-Only members. UCF will be invited to join in all sports, not just football. Finally, they will be raising their exit fees.

Meh. Not going to keep them from being the lesser of all the BCS conferences. None of the schools offered really help them perception-wise with the media and fans.

I think the Mountain West and Conference USA just killed the Big East.
The Mountain West Conference and Conference USA have agreed to form an association for football, hoping the move will help solidify both leagues and improve their chances at obtaining an automatic qualifying bid for the Bowl Championship Series.
The 22-team league will have a two-division alignment and will play a championship game, Conference USA commissioner Britton Banowsky said during a conference call announcing the move on Friday.

Kind of a neat way of devising a football conference, but probably not one that will get the conference an automatic BCS bid due to not having any really highly rated teams among them.

If BSU accepts a Big East invite, then no.

The offer has been officially extended to 5 schools now. SMU and Houston have received invites

BSU may be ranked....BUT, they are the most OVER RANKED program in the history of CF, due to their patsy schedule year after year.....imo......Join a credible league already and lets see what you are made of...That's the only way that BSU ever deserves a shot at a NC game.....Until then, they are just occupying a space in the top 5......What a joke....

Alright..they are going to have to change their name to the Big Central or something. None of the new teams are in the east.

I like this idea for the lesser conferences.

BSU loses Moore, who is a very good quarterback and definitely a major factor in their recent success. It's hard to imagine another of such skill set waiting in the wings to take it over. I think that program falls back to earth next year.

I have thought that before, but they keep finding Quarterbacks. I would love to see them fall to 4 or 5 losses next year.
