Okay, so tonight on the BCS Countdown show, most opinions were that even if LSU loses, they would still land in the NCG. Let's say that happens...

Georgia beats LSU...Georgia wins the SEC and gets an automatic bid in a BCS game (Sugar Bowl?)
Alabama finishes no worse than 2nd, possibly first. They are in the BCS NCG right?
If LSU gets in also, ranked #1 or #2 following the loss in the SEC Champ. Game, that makes 3 SEC teams in the BCS. Can that happen?

Issue #1: 3 SEC teams get BCS bids (didn't think that could happen)
Issue #2: BCS is set up for top 2 teams to meet. If Georgia is already in, and LSU and Alabama are ranked #1 and #2, but cannot get 3 SEC teams in, the BCS rules counteract each other. What happens?
Issue #3: In this scenario, we'd have 2 teams playing for the NC...one didn't even win their DIVISION, and the other lost in the conf. champ. game, but both play for the NC. Seems odd, especially if OK St. beats OK and wins the Big12 with only one loss.

Just wanted some direction in this scenario. The outcome kinda bothers me. Please get us a playoff soon!

I was wondering the same thing, only two teams per conference, so what would happened if LSU does indeed lose? Like you said its PAST TIME for a playoff! Come on stupid BCS get with the times, even MLB is starting to with using replay.

I read an article in the Time Picayune last Monday that said they could if the conference champion was Georgia and not LSU. Not saying they were right, just saying that is what they said.

Straight from the BCS website:

"No more than two teams from a conference may be selected, regardless of whether they are automatic qualifiers or at-large selections, unless two non-champions from the same conference are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the final BCS Standings."

Its safe to say that the rule is ludacris but it is what it is

Kind of amazing they had that much foresight to have that rule in place.

All the BCS cares about is getting #1 and #2 right. So to that end, they cannot allow any scenario in which that wouldn't be possible for #1 or #2. WE MUST GIVE THEM NO CREDIT OF ANY FORM!
