Is Boise State arrogant?

With so much chatter about Chris Peterson and UCLA I visited the BSU Scout site. The have a new forum, the Coaching Speculation Board, with the following description...
Yes, visiting fan, YOUR School is special, Pete has turned down other schools, but YOUR school is super duper cool & will throw so much money at him he can't say no. Even if he's turned you down in the past, he didn't mean it.. he secretly loves you & has been telling recruits that he wants to coach there because he has a close friendship with your AD, & because you have super Medical services for his Orphanage of Special Needs Children. Come tell us about your super duper internet sources!!
http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=336
With that description I decided I wouldn't find an iota of useful information and left. I'm certain it gets old having your coach chased by every major program in the country but this strikes me as just childish. Maybe I'm overly sensitive.

I really despise that fanbase, moreso than any other fanbase in the country.
I hope UCLA gets Peterson, it would make my day to see the smurf turf crew cry their hearts out.

Man those guys suck. I hope Peterson takes the UCLA job and BSU has to hire Tyrone Willingham because no one else will take the job.

Arrogant, yes. But they are speaking the truth, Peterson has turned down bigger programs than UCLA. That being said, losing Kellen Moore has to be looming in his mind and I wouldn't be surprised if this is the year that he moves on.

I think that special section on the BSU site is an outstanding idea.
Every year the BSU site is flooded by arrogant asswipe fans of every major school that is facing a possible coaching transition saying how rich and prestigious their schools are and how BSU has no chance of holding Petersen once they offer. This year with all the coaching changes they preempted that crap from flooding their regular board by putting it in its own section. Tip of a cap to their board admin.

i think that is really funny. I also think boise fans blow oregon fans out of the water in sportsmanship (and lack of arrogance). that comes from a fan of a school that boise really hurt by leaving and destroying the WAC.

Maybe not arrogant...but cocky according to this post
You must have missed BSU for the last 4 years, cause the reality is you are lucky if you stay within 10 and even luckier if you can somehow manage to tie or take the lead late.
BSU would do way better then anyone thinks against LSU. BSU is a perfect matchup for them. A team that doesn't turn the ball over and has moved the ball against everyone since Kellen has been there and an LSU 1 dimensional team against a Bronco team that shuts down 1 dimensional teams worse then anyone in the country.
Maybe it would be a blowout, but I would not be surprised in the least if BSU didn't give LSU more of a game then anyone in the country. Whenever BSU has been doubted against "superior" opponents BSU has always done what they couldn't and in ways people thought were unimagineable.
First…..their offence that has moved the ball against “everyone” and doesn’t turn the ball over have not played anyone like LSU’s D….second….LSU’s offense is actually fairly balanced with 2052 yards in the air and 20 passing TDs and 2590 yards on the ground and 32 rushing TDs. We just run a lot because that is what we do best with 4 RB in our stable.
No way Boise is a “perfect” matchup for LSU.

That's because you don't live in Boise. I do. Yes they are over the top arrogant. But in their defense, they are constantly bumping their heads on a glass ceiling and it infuriates them, so like the little kid in school who wants to be seen as a tough guy,, they mouth off A LOT.
If you go to any ESPN board and drop a Boise reference, the hammers come out because their spouting off has inflamed just about everyone at this point.

Back on topic...how much did ole boy at UCLA make and is it more than Peterson is making now?
I would think that UCLA has A LOT more to offer when it comes to money, facilities and the ability to get kids to come to you than Boise does.

Peterson and Nueweisel make about the same money. HOWEVER, the new TV deal is bringing in a huge influx of cash, so teams should start to step up. For instance. Wulff at WSU was making 600k a year, their new hire (Leach) is now making in the neighborhood of 2.5 million. Crazy stuff happening out west.
If UCLA throws out 3 million, it would not surprise me to see Peterson grab the brass ring. AND his team this year is seriously stacked with seniors leaving. On the surface, it really seems as though it would be a good time to go. However, I'm not sure what drives the guy. To each their own and maybe Boise fits his family's bill?

Don't get me wrong, I agree with the concept of the forum, but I think the execution failed miserably. My problem is the snotty, spoiled 10 year old type attitude used as a description. Rather than fostering mature discussion it encourages worthless childish flames and braggadocio. That failure is on the site operators.

The BSU fan next to me declared "What? This is football!" after seeing the review of Masoli getting knocked out on a late hit.
Didn't seem very sportsmanlike to me.
