Ouch. Clemson is getting absolutely destroyed by West Virginia (49-20 at half time)

Wish he would have remained an Oregon commit, but I understand that he wanted to stay close to home (even though publicly, he cited some pretty bogus reasons).

I think he's going to be a good player, but up until this year, Clemson = the East Coast Cal.

Btw, Byers is up to 275. He likely would have been able to play DT at Oregon.

Bryce Brown said the same thing when he went to tennessee, then he transferred to K-State. I think god quit paying attention a long time ago and forgot how to find his way around.

Byers was a big loss for Oregon he is really doing well at Clemson. and I think he meant his parents when he said God. Because the reason for staying close to home was being close to family. yea God might of wanted him to go to Oregon but family is strong I guess more than God. He will do well at clemson. Coach sweeney's coaching plan obviously didnt work. Lache said the same thing when he committed. Then I heard him say it on 1080 the fan like a week before he left. seems like they use it as a simple answer because nobody questions it.

Let's just clear 1 thing up already: God does NOT care about athletics or where a recruit goes to school. IF there is something truly commendable about Tim Tebow and his faith, its that he understands that God doesn't care who wins and who losses a game and he has said as much to reporters.

True, not to get into religion on a Ducks forum (especially since I'm the main moderator lol), but I do believe that God will use stupid things such as Tim Tebow + Football to show His glory and the miracles he can pull off. Yes, Denver making it to playoffs after their start and with Tim Tebow the rest of the way is somewhat of a miracle.

Back to the topic at hand though, Byers obviously thought being home close to family was most important. Nothing wrong with that.

Well said. Wish he would have just said that he wanted to be close to his family (the real reason).

He redshirted this year. I think he's going to be an impact player for Clemson.

I don't think God cares about football. Far too trivial, but the location of a person I think could be.....say you're a gambling and sex addict, do you think God would want you to go to UNLV if you were being recruited by them? Or would he rather you go to say Baylor or TCU?

Basically environment can be vital, who and what you surround yourself with. I think God would have a preference in that
