What about the Ragin' Cajuns? The same could be said for any other team named after a group of people: Aztec, Trojans, Vikings, etc. As someone of Scandinavian descent, I should probably take offense at the use of Vikings and file a lawsuit too.

Agreed---and my people are hardly the violence loving, angry, short little leprechauns they'd make us out to be.

While the Irish were not always portrayed in the best light in the US, they were hardly victims of genocide with the survivors forced to live on worthless and marginal lands.

Dad has the family shillelagh... He's 87 this year, and could probably still kick my butt, if he got his ire up!

I actually witnessed a fine donnybrook involving me old man when he was about 50... Got fired up on a logging job, climbed up one side of a Link Belt Loader, knocked the operator out the opposite door, and followed him over the edge of the landing for a fine slobber knocker of a brawl... 10 minutes later, you would have thought they were a couple old buddies who'd just whupped the rest of the patrons of the local pub, instead of having just having a knock down drag out fight with each other.
